Mike's P.O.V
At that moment I'm sure my heart stopped beating for a few seconds. Vincent sat there in silence.. not saying anything... having an unreadable expression on his face.. making it unclear if he was happy, nervous, angry? But then he did something that made it clear that he was thinking something good. He leaped off of his chair, into my lap and kissed me right on the lips for a solid ten seconds.
His face was bright red as he pulled away but there were also happiness tears and a big smile across his face. Once he pulled away, our faces still remained very close to each other's..
"So is that a yesssss?" I ask with a small nervous chuckle.
Vincent giggles and elbows me while nodding, "of course it's a yes!" He cries out ecstatically.
I immediately envelope him Into a warm, secure hug of pure love and care.
"I love you so much mister Mikey.." he says into my shoulder in that sweet little tone of voice of his. Suddenly my eyes start to tear up from happiness, it was just something I couldn't control. So there we sat on my kitchen floor, crying together about how happy we are to be engaged... right in front of my mom. After about a minute we finally pull away and just look at each other for a couple of seconds. I wipe his tears and he wipes mine. Finally I take his right hand in my hand and slip the ring on to his ring finger slowly. We both get up and then first thing I'm greeted with is a big bear hug from my mom. And that's when I realized... SHE was in tears too!! And my mom never cries.
"You're going to be so lovely together.." she exclaims through her tears as she moves over to Vincent and gives him a big hug as well. Just then I hear my mother gasp, the mood seeming to change.
"I'm going to have so much fun planning this wedding with you!!" She squeals while clapping her hands together and then giving me a small slap on the arm, "and now you ain't gotta choice mike. Imma be around for a few weeks haha!" She laughs happily. I smile with a sigh as I roll my eyes. Vincent on the other hand squeals and nods his head, "yay you seem so nice!" He insists.
"Awwww honey you're so sweet! I have a feeling we're gonna get along!" Vincent and my mother share a laugh before we all help clean up the table from dinner...and immediately start to plan our big day.
