Chapter 4 - Letters

It was a little drop of blood that worried Yavanika. She shouted "Rajith Where are you?"

Rajith is Yavanika's husband who is a private lawyer.

Rajith came from the bathroom with a bandage on his forefinger and a funny smile on his face and said, "Hey babe, you came too quickly today, no crimes to solve?"

She angrily replied, "What did I tell you? I told you not to come to the kitchen. I told you not to cut any vegetables. I told..."

"Stop right there professor, don't start your lecture 'I don't want people doing my work', I have already heard that a million times", Rajith said that sarcastically.

"I am really worried about you Rajith; I have no one except you and Sara. What will we do if something happens to you?"

"Well I am not going to die because it's just a small scar. The important thing is I made you and our cutie a tasty and delicious Carrot Juice!"

"I am not going to drink that until you promise me you won't do like this again."

"Okay I won't do carrot juice again, I promise."

"Rajith!" Yavanika was angry.

"Okay, I won't come to your kitchen, I promise. Where is our cutie?"

"Hey Daddy, I ate ice-cream today", Sara changed into new dress and was running towards his dad.

"Wow, that's good cutie", Rajith grabbed her and kissed in her cheek.

"Do you want one babe?" Rajith asked Yavanika.

Yavanika just smiled at her husband and left the dining hall.

2 December 2016, 11:00 AM

"Yes sir, definitely sir, I'll look into that", Yavanika was talking to someone on the phone at her office. After a few seconds, she hung up the phone.

Her assistant Roopa entered the room holding a green color file.

"Roopa, The commissioner called now, He's asking about that missing husband. Today morning, the wife also met him it seems. Do we have any information on that missing person? What's his name? I forgot."

"His name is Ravi mam. I just received a call from A5 Police station. I was going to tell you about that only mam."

"What is it Roopa?"

"There was a fire accident yesterday night at 'Star House Apartments 8th Floor'. A young girl named Sathya died in that accident"

"Oh my god!!", Yavanika was sad to hear that. "How is it relevant to our case Roopa?"

"The Crime Scene Investigators partially recovered some letters from that apartment. The letters are for Sathya. They photographed those letters and mailed me. Here is the copy of those letters mam."

Roopa gave that green color file to Yavanika.

Yavanika saw those letters. Some of them were not so clear. There was one letter that grabbed her attention. That letter went like this "BE READY SATHYA, THE LAST TRAIN IS AT 11:55 PM. I'LL COME AND PICK YOU UP. LOVE YOU - RAVI".

Yavanika sighed and said, "The missing husband had an AFFAIR?"
