"Kimberly, where are you coming from at this time?" Mariana asked stopping her by the door

"Mariana, shouldn't you be in bed with your husband?" Kimberly replied not ready for her ranting

"Your dad you mean?" She asked rolling her eyes 

"What do you want Mariana, I mean don't you ever get tired, well if you must know, I was sleeping around with younger guys, I was really having a time of my life you know and you're free to join me.... OH you're married I forgot" Kimberly said faking a smile Mariana was someone who loved men, she always changed her boyfriend then but Kimberly didn't care because she believed it was her personal life

"Well lucky you, I'm married you know, I have a husband, why not get yourself one first?" She said faking a smile.

"That's my game plan Marie darling, I plan on getting married to someone who owns a multimillion dollars company, but you see my dear you got married for the wrong man, do you think I'll let you have my company, I guess you didn't know that it was in my name did you?" Kimberly said sweetly just as Ricardo came

"Hey dad" Kimberly called sweetly which surprised Ricardo 

"Kimberly" he called slowly

"Yes dad, I know I haven't been of good behavior so I'm sorry and to make up, I'll cook breakfast for you" Kimberly said pouting while Mariana looked at her in disbelief

"Kimberly, are yo....

"Off course dad I'm okay and I'd like to apologize to my dear step momma" she said going to draw Mariana closer to her dad while Mariana couldn't help but stare at her

"b*tch, the game has just begun" she said smiling to herself.

 
"So you guys go take your bath while I make breakfast" she
said ushering them inside while Mariana turned back to look at her again before going with her dad.

Did they really think she would change over night after they betrayed her  mom, she might not be here but that doesn't give them the right. she went to her room and changed into something comfortable before going to the kitchen to make breakfast, Diana also helped out. After she was done her dad and Mariana came down for breakfast.

"What was that show all about?" Mariana asked barging into her room.

"Are you so used to rejection that you don't know the meaning of love?" she asked rolling her eyes at her

"Common cut it Kimberly, you can fool Ricardo not me" she snapped while Kimberly calmly ignored her "I'm talking to you?" She yelled 

"And I heard you right but I decided not to reply you, it's as simple as that" she replied taking off my dress,

 "I'm damn tired, what I need now is rest not someone yelling at me"

"Don't act too smart and you better watch your back" she said before slamming the door

"You better watch your back also cos I'm not gonna spare you" Kimberly said after she left the room.

*the following week*
"As you all know Mariana and I are now married so as my wife, she'll be joining the board of directors and also she will be the vice CEO" Ricardo my dad said at the board meeting

"That's not possible Ricardo, you can't just make a decision and impose them on us" Mr. Vince said. Vince was one of her mothers most trusted employee, they had been friends from way back and even should had gotten married but something came up

"What's wrong making her one?, after all she's the lady now" Mr. Louis interjected him. louis was also a member of the board who never liked her mom, he had liked her before, but after she rejected him on several occasions, he decided to be her worst nightmare.

"We'll cast a vote before we come to any conclusion" Kimberly said silencing all the murmuring 

"as we all know, no one can take up any executive role unless they have served for at least five years and they are duly recommended for the position" 

"she's my wife, we can make an exception for her" Ricardo said

"the fact that we are gathered here when we have a very big project to plan is us making an exception and moreover, we don't mix business and pleasure"

"how dare you?" Marianna roared

I will advice you to be calm miss, this is a cooperate setting and you must learn how to conduct yourself even under pressure" Kimberly said, she was enjoying every bit of it, she had never lost to anyone and she didn't plan on doing so now, not even to Marianna.

the vote was counted and it was a tie, the decision was left in the hands of kimberly, because she was the one in charge of making decisions

"so according to the votes, its a tie and like I stated earlier, you have to have at least five years experience to hold a post, so my vote goes in favor of miss Marianna under the condition that she follows due process and join the planning team"

"but miss............ Mr. louis was about to say before he was cut short

I would like us to honor the founder of this company who is my mother and follow ever rules that has been set aside, she has been given that post only that she cannot resume duties until she serves her mandatory five years which almost every one in this room followed"

"except you" mr louis said under his breath, but Kimberly still heard him

"yes except me, because i rescued this company after you Mr. louis, Mr. white who is still serving his jail term almost ruined it" she replied 

"if you have any valid objection, well discuss it at the board meeting, if not the meeting is over"

I knew you were up to no good" Marianna said slamming her office door open

"one of the things you'll learn in your new team Mariana" Kimberly said smiling sweetly

"how dare you" she yelled

"dont forget im still your boss in the office and you have to address me formally"

"this is far from being over Kimberly"  Marianna said before stomping away
