"Welcome back home, Julia. How was your day at school? " asked Helen.
"It was good",lied Julia, "Helen, you could go to the tree house alone today. I am a bit tired so I want to rest. "
"Sure, rest well. I left you some mini apple pies. Goodbye,"said Helen and then she left.
Julia went to her room and just lay on the bed having the same thoughts she had all day long. She couldn't keep her mind off Thomason.
Helen was nervous and excited to spend time alone with Grady. She was also happy to have a day off from studying.
"Welcome! Welcome! How are you doing today? "asked Grady when he noticed Helen entering.
"I am doing superb. Thank you for asking. What about you?"
"I am good. Where is your friend? "
"Julia is a bit tired today,"responded Helen.
"Ok, I hope she gets better,"said Grady, "Helen, I want to show you something. But promise you won't tell anyone. It is going to be our little secret. "
"I promise I won't tell anyone,"said Helen.
"Alright, follow me."
Helen followed Grady with curiosity.
"We have reached our destination," said Grady.
Helen's eyes widened with awe. It was a breath taking garden covered with glamorous flower. Cute little bunnies roamed around both of them.
"What do you think? "asked Grady.
"It is absolutely stunning. I mesmorized by it's beauty. "
"This is where I come when I feel down. I come here to relax. You promised not to tell anyone, not even Julia," said Grady.
"I promise," replied Helen.
"There is one last thing I need to show you,"said Grady as he led Helen to a lake.
"When it's hot, I come here to swim. Next time you come alone, we're going to swim together. "
"But I don't have a swimsuit and I don't know how to swim. "
"Don't worry, everything will be set up," replied Grady, assuring.
Helen was a bit puzzled but decided to wait to see what will happen.
"I am starving,"said Grady.
At once, Helen remembered the pies.
"Yeah, Grady. Thank you so much for the incredible painting. This is a little gift to thank you for your effort," said Helen, shyly.
"You're welcome,"replied Grady as he took a bite from the delicious apple pies.
They sat under a tree and Grady offered Helen to share the pie with him. At first, she was reluctant to take but accepted after he insisted. They ate the apple pies and smiled at each other.
"Helen, how do you do that! Are you some sort of baking magician ?" requested Grady, chuckling.
Helen laughed and then thanked him for the compliment.
"It's getting late. I have to head back home," said Helen.
"Can I walk you home? "
"Sure."
Grady walked Helen home. They laughed together and got to know each other better.
"Before I leave, I have something for you," said Grady as he took out a bracelet and handed it to her. It was a turtle necklace decorated with beautiful pieces.
"I want you to have this. I am not going to tell you why it's a turtle. You'll have to find it by your own,"said Grady, smirking.
"Mr. Mystery. I am going to find out it's meaning," replied Helen to which Grady laughed.
"Ok Ms.Smarty, had a splendid day with you. Can't wait for tomorrow."
"Me too. I enjoyed a lot. Hope we'll get to repeat it soon, Mr. Mystery,"said Helen and both laughed at the nicknames they gave each other.
Then they wished a farewell and a good day to each other.
