No one is going to believe my story when I tell it, but that's okay, because I know you'll still listen. A tall tale it may seem to you, but what I'm about to tell you all, actually happened in the small town of Marietta, Ohio, and it forever changed my life.

~

Taking a sip of my now flat sprite soda, I watch as trees, bushes, and other such things pass by the jeep window rapidly. If you're wondering why i'm even in this car, it's because of me moving in with my mother. Since my dads sudden death sent me away to Ohio.

"So, your stuff has already been delivered to the house , so when we get home, start unpacking okay sweetie?", I grunt at my mother, signalling I heard. "You must be exhausted from the flight I guess. We'll be at the house soon.", she informed me, I just kept staring out the window.
~

The house resembles something of a log cabin which is located near the edge of a mountain and the town, so it wasn't too forested in but still had the woods starting behind. Getting out of the car, the forest air hits me like a truck. "Well, time to start a new life, in a new home, in a new town.", I sigh to myself.

"Alright, now be sure to stay off that leg!", My mother instructs a small boy. "Yes Ms.Thompson! Thanks again!", he replied as he leaves the clinic. She works an an herbal doctor, and almost all of town knew her. "Now time to get you situated.", she points at me.

Mom drove me to Marietta High school. its large, but not bigger then my old high school in Jersey. We open the glass pull door and enter the exaggerated building, and then into the office.

"Dr. Thompson! A surprise to see you in my office for once!", a rather overly enthusiastic Asian man announced. "The feelings mutual Principal Kurasuma. See Lydia, your principle is one of my patients.", she pointed out. I just nodded.

"I'm here on good business you see."

"Oh yes, signing your daughter up for school I'm guessing? Just sign these papers and you'll be good to go.", he passes registration forms to my mother, she signs them, and passes them back. "Lydia O'Connor ?" "Its a long story."

~

We leave the school and tour the town a bit, then eat and head home for the night. I'm now sitting next to my open window, the night breeze flowing through my golden brown hair, creating a peaceful feeling inside me. I continue gazing upon the slightly spread out trees until a clearing comes into view.

"Huh...", an idea pops into my head. I quickly throw on my converses and hop out of my window stealthily, the moonlight making my path clear. I pass through many things. A large tree bridge, a small pond, which I walk across the rocks, then a crawl space. It was like a small tunnel made from tree roots, but at the end of it was surprisingly bright, vibrant colors. I crawl through.

~

Getting snagged a few times, I make it to an almost heart stopping view. A river that seemed to glow multiple shades of luminescent greens, blues, and violets , fluffy, vibrant green blades of grass, swaying in the wind, and one huge factor caught my eye: A huge creature with shining lime colored eyes, the head and body of a lion, wings that almost mirror a dragons with the metallic color of wine, and the tail of a scorpion. I felt it was staring into my soul.

"I see, you mean no harm to me.", it spoke in a demanding feminine voice. "I see you have grieved a rather lot child, and more to come."

"Who are you?"

"I am Imogen. I am also what you call a chimera."
