A few days later....

Yurio POV

"Yura."

I groaned.

"Yura, you've got to get up."

I rolled over. Otabek was leaning over the side of my bed. He was dressed in his training clothes.

"What time is it...?" I mumbled.

"4:32 am. You have 28 minutes to get ready and be at the rink." Otabek answered.

I sighed, and got out of bed. I went into the bathroom and changed into my training clothes. I threw on my 'Russia' jacket and walked out the door. "Let's go" I said. Otabek nodded and opened the front door. "Yuuri and Viktor are already at the rink." Otabek said as we went down the stairs.

"Whatever. I don't care what they do." I grumbled.

"Not a morning person, huh?" Otabek remarked.

"Whatever."

15 minutes of walking later, we were at the rink. We put on our skates and walke out of the change room.

"Yurio! Otabek!" Viktor called across the rink. He and Yuuri were skating rounds hand in hand.

"Shut up." I called. Otabek put his hands on my shoulders.

"He means 'Good morning'" Otabek corrected.

"No I said-"

"Shall we skate?" Otabek interrupted. (See what I did there 😏😏)

He guided me onto the rink. We skated a few rounds, then Viktor said we should practice jumps.

"Try... Quadruple toe loop." He suggested. I did so, and landed it with ease. So did Otabek and Yuuri. Of course Viktor did too.

"What about a quadruple lutz." Yuuri suggested.

"Easy." I said as I did the jump gracefully. After a few more jumps -all of which I landed- we practiced our routines for the Grand Prix final. We had all qualified, and we were all competing against each other. Phichit and Chris had also qualified. My routine had 4 quads. I over rotated on the third one. Otabek was next. He glided onto the ice and Viktor started the music. He skated effortlessly. He landed every jump. It was almost over, but I didn't want it to end. Suddenly his skate caught in something in the ice, and he fell. There was a sharp crack as he hit the ice, and he yelled out in pain. I already had my shoes on, but I hopped over the boards onto the ice anyway. Otabek was laying on the ice cradling his left arm. I could hear my heartbeat in my ears.

"Otabek." I said as I fell to my knees beside him. His eyes were closed, his face contorted with pain.

"Are you okay?" Yuuri asked as he skated up behind me. Viktor skated over with Otabeks water bottle.

"I... My shoulder!" Otabek gasped. I looked over at his left shoulder. It looked... Out of place. Literally. "I'll call an ambulance." Viktor said, he skated off the ice and into the dressing room to get his phone. "Here Otabek, you need to get up before the ambulance gets here." Yuuri said. Otabek nodded slightly. Yuuri helped him stand up, and skate over to the benches to change his shoes. I sat on the ice. I looked around. Otabek wouldn't have just fallen like that, it's not like him at all. Something must've... I noticed I divot in the ice. I scooted over to it. It looked like it was made buy a skate... I stood. "Yuuri, someone did this! There's a hole in the ice!" I yelled, anger bubbled inside me. "Yurio calm down, we'll talk about this later." Yuuri said.

We told the doctors, the police. They waved it off as nothing.

What's worse is the fact that Otabeks shoulder is dislocated.

And he won't be able to compete in the Grand Prix final.
