Graduation day had come sooner than expected. And to everyone's surprise- even Arthur's- Alfred was valedictorian. And to no one's surprise, Matthew was salutatorian. Alfred shifted a bit as he started to make his speech.
"Wow.... the years go by so fast I guess...." he laughed awkwardly, coughing a bit. He smiled before continuing, "What I'm trying to say is... thanks. I know I didn't show it, but I do thank everyone. I know I've caused trouble, but everyone I've met and befriended has taught me that it's okay to be bad sometimes, but not others. I learned that it's okay to be you. Most importantly, I learned that Arthur is the best boyfriend, Matthew is the best brother, Elizaveta is the best fangirl and is the best for bluntness, Francis is the best man to describe all these terms you had no idea what meant before he told you, Lovino and Antonio deserved the cutest couple award, Feliks is the best for fashion advice, Toris is the best one to keep you safe, and Gilbert is the best to have fun with. I learned that these people will always stay with me... and that's what's important... not mitosis or who won the Punic War..."
All eyes were now on the American standing behind the podium. And some were in tears.
"You weren't even that good at English," Matthew accidentally said aloud... and loudly. Glares were sent in his direction, but he couldn't care less. Everybody just watched as the teen stepped down from the stage, smiling a bit at everyone around him. And after everything was done, speeches, hugging, and tears, Alfred hosted a graduation party. And this time... no one was drunk. He just took a selfie with most of them in tears. And kissed Arthur. And hugged Francis and Matthew and Gilbert and Feliks and Toris and Elizaveta. He hugged them all... in tears... and they cried with him
