"Are you ready for the lunch time entertainment ladies and gentlemen!?" Terrance asked as he made his way to the table.
"Oh God here we go." I said blandly. Terrance loved to sing, even though he was no good.
"And what song will you be singing for us today Mr. Brown?" our friend Lisa asked as she popped a tator-tot in her mouth.
Lisa was new in town. She had only been here for about three months but we had already grown really close. She had dark brown hair, green eyes and the biggest boobs I had ever seen. She said what she thought and that's what I liked about her.
"Well Ms. Greene, since I did make most of the touch down at the game Friday and the cafeteria lady gave me extra fries, for free I may add I think that its only right if I sing Celebration by kool and the gang" He said setting down his tray. "Ms. Tiffany Giselle Adams can I please get the intro."
I rolled my eyes playfully and took a deep breath. "YA WOOH" I yelled out.
"CELEBRATE GOOD TIMES COME!" Terrance and Lisa sang out. "IT'S A CELEBRATION" I said in a deep raspy voice. Lisa and Terrance stopped and looked at me and busted out in laughter. "Well damn Ike Turner" Terrance laughed, "I can't even hit that note!"
I threw a French fry at him as he sat down. We all laughed and started eating our lunch. That's when Calvin walked by our table.
"What up Tiff." He said as he walked by. "Hey Calvin." I said with a wave.
"Damn, she is fine." I heard one of his boys say as they continued outside to their table.
"When did you and Puffy Daddy C get cool?" Lisa asked me as she nudged me with her foot.
"What are you talking about all he said was 'what's up Tiff' it's not like he tongue kissed me in front of yall" I said defensibly.
"It's not what he said it's how he said it" Terrance chimed in. " You don't want to get wrapped up with a guy like that Tiff, he's nothing but trouble and one day you'll find yourself dead in the middle of something he did."
"Look I'm not with him ok all he said was hey and yall think we secretly fucking. Stop jump fucking conclusions, Damn!" I yelled at them.
"Ok, fine. If you say it's nothing then it nothing. We'll drop it." Lisa said holding up her hand.
"Good." I said slamming my hand down on the table.
We were all silent for the rest of lunch. I know all Terrance and Lisa were only trying to look out for me but it was my life and if I wanted to date the head dope boy in our school then dammit I was going to do. This is my life and I'll live it how I want to.
Lunch was finally over and it was time for us to head back to class. I Stopped by my locker to get out my English binder when a note fell out. I picked it up off of the floor and read it.
Hey Tiffany,
I been watching you for a while and everyday I find myself liking you more and more. I know most people see me as just a thug or hood but I'm so much more than that. Please give me a chance to show you the real me this weekend at the lake behind the park. Come at 7:00 No phones, no friends, just us. I promise you won't regret it.
CJ
I Held the note close to my chest and took a deep breath. This is Your life Tiff live it how you want to. I said to myself. I closed my locker and walked to my English class with that question in my head. Should I go?
