Like a Fairytale

Chapter 1

NARUTO

I am having the best dream suddenly I was awakened by the loudest voice I ever heard.

"Naru wake up," mom shouted. "You know what day today is, don't you?"

It's my mom, Kushina Uzumaki. Not to brag but my mom is one of the most beautiful women in Konoha City, especially her scarlet hair. She believes it's her red string of fate, the reason she met dad.

"Come now, breakfast is ready," she said. "Your father will be here any minute now."

"Okay mom, just give me five minutes more," I replied.

Three minutes later someone knock on my door and entered my room. I thought it was mom so I stood up immediately saying "Okay mom, I am up now," while rubbing my eyes. Believe me, you'll never want mom angry because she's scary. Surprisingly it wasn't mom, it's someone else entirely. He looks just like me, blonde hair and deep blue eyes except for my whisker-like birthmark on my cheeks. It's my dad Minato Namikaze.

"Daaaad," I yelled tackling him with a bear hug. I love mom but I only see dad once a month so I'm clingy when his around. "Hey there buddy," dad replied while ruffling my hair. "Happy Birthday, Naruto."

"Thanks dad. By the way, are you gonna stay 'til dinner?" I asked.

I am afraid I couldn't stay but—

I didn't let him finish. "It's okay I understand, you're busy and all. Though I'm glad you're here," cutting him. I gave him my best smile though he noticed the sadness in my eyes.

Mom then came in and said, "Okay boys, the foods started to get cold so let's eat." "Before I forget, Happy birthday Naru, I love my baby boy," then she gave me a peck on my cheeks.

"Mommm, should you always do that," I responded. "It's embarrassing."

"Oh, Naru even though you get older you'll always be my baby boy." Now, let's go and eat. Mom started at the door then I and dad followed.

Dad took the cake from the kitchen counter and to the dining table. My parents started singing.

"Happy birthday to you,

Happy birthday to you,

Happy birthday Dear Naru,

Happy birthday to you!"

I blew the candle and made a wish. Same wish I did for my previous birthday. Mom gave me her present as usual, every year she gives me anything I ask but not this year. I didn't ask any. It was something I didn't expect at all, she gave me a red scarf made by her.

I hug her and said "Thank you Mom, I love you."

Suddenly Dad said something that surprised me, "I'm going to make your dream come true today my son, for 12 years, you and your mom and me wanted to be together as a family--"

Dad knelt in front of mom in one knee and took a box in his pocket and opened it. He popped the question we wanted to hear for so long, "Kushina Uzumaki, Will you make me the happiest man in the entire world? Will you marry me?"

Mom was startled at first and tears form in her eyes but quickly regained her composure. She answered, "Yes, Minato Namikaze, I will marry you." Dad kissed Mom and he grabbed me and gave us a hug.

I was also crying but I wanted to ask him badly so I did. "Dad, will you live with us now."

"Yes and No," he answered. "What I mean is you and your mom will live with me with your grandfather Jiraiya."

"But how? I know he didn't want me so what change his decision?" Mom asked with a confused look.

"Naruto," Dad replied. "He wanted an heir from me so I told him about us and Naruto. I know dad has issues about the past but he change especially learning about Naruto. He always wanted to have a grandson so now he does, he won't complain anymore. He wanted to meet you and Naruto today. So are you Okay with it."

"Yes," I and mom said together.

That morning, instead of celebrating, Mom and I got prepared to meet grandpa Jiraiya. Dad just laughed because he never expected that we would agree with the meeting. It's true that Mom and I were angry about grandpa's action but I never hated him. I wish it should have been earlier that this but what else, late is better than never.

This is the best birthday gift ever.
