~Prologue~

The rain trickled down from the heaven's. Landing on the soft, grassy ground of the clearing. The inhabitants weren't here. As they usually were. But it was late. Schuyler sighed deeply. Why; why? That question seemed to ponder inside of her head over and over again. As if it would never leave. The girl began to gnaw on her lower lip. She was beginning to get lonely!

She had thick, dark brown hair, that waved in the wind like chocolate syrup on top of vanilla ice cream. Eye's the color of blood, liquid crimson. They would pierce the very soul with just a glance. Was she human? That question would soon be found out, now wouldn't it?

"It's getting late" A soft voice whispered in Schuyler's ear. A pair of teeth nibbling the sensitive skin of her neck.

"Lynk" She greeted her brother with distaste in her tone. She pushed away from the boy she usually called her brother. But really; he was a friend. An ally.

"What are you two doing?" Bailey growled lowly. Bailey was Schuyler's guardian. Not like a mother, but a guardian. Bailey had made herself perfectly clear on that statement the day they met. The day she chased the fat blue lady from the creek and to her house, where she stupidly found out the girl was pregnant. Not her fault she wanted food!

Bailey wore a frown. "Who's he?" She asked with her usual formal voice. She was tall, had blonde hair. And wings. Her wings were outstandingly beautiful! Especially in Schuyler's eyes. "Sky, who's he?" She asked, now resorting to her nickname.

"A friend" Schuyler said blankly. Flicking her gaze to the ground.

"A boyfriend, maybe?"

"No. A friend" Now Schuyler's voice was turning into a wolfish growl. She hated when Bailey did that!

"Lynk" The boy greeted himself. Bowing his respects. He was tall, and rather keen sensed. A vampire. He had dark blue hair, all natural. With red eyes. Not as red as Schuyler's, but red. He smiled and turned to Schuyler, "As we meet again." He brought the girl's small hand to his mouth and kissed her knuckles.

Her face turned red, "Bye" She said and pulled her hand away. She could feel Bailey's eyes on her. It was really intimidating too, the way she seemed almost invisible. But always there at the same time.

Lynk nodded, feeling Sky's uneasiness before his skin began to flake away like snow on a cold winters morning. Blowing away into dust. He'd be back, no doubt about that.

Bailey cleared her throat in a way only she would do, "We need to go. I'm starved, and I saw some good humans down the path. Hiking or something" She flicked her wrist.

Sky was still Bailey's apprentice. Sky nodded. Taking the lead while sheathing her scythe.

Her scythe, well, that was a totally different story!

It was long, and graceful. Like a black cat on a railing round midnight. Stalking to bring misfortune to an unlucky folk. Its blade, ivory white. Regarding as if it had never cut through the flesh of another. But it had. It was nothing new to Sky. Murder, it was something that happened allot in the land of Kugyay.

Sky's movements were too fast to attack, and too swift to be seen. Her body was slim, her actions graceful. Her shoe's were a pair of ballerina slippers. Solid white, matching the porcelain white color of her skin. Sky was all around beautiful. Her look's would throw off her actual age of 10.

Bailey wasn't far behind. But was a bit slower. She was older than Sky, well, of course, being her guardian and all. Bailey's species was unknown by Sky. Just that she was dangerous to mess with. As was Sky.

Sky stopped abruptly. Her halt jerky as she swung forwards, grabbing the branch of a tree to steady herself. She needed to work on her 'landing' as Bailey called it. Sky then spotted the humans that gave Sky a look as if she had 3 heads. "Let's go" She whispered to her scythe. Yes, her weapon could hear her. It began to shift and form as it became a double ended scythe. Easier to take out both the humans there. This was part of her training.

The girl leaped forwards, and in the making, slashed one of the humans, the other tried to run.

Bailey grasped the running male's neck. "No please! I have a family, a wife, kids..." He was crying. Bailey only laughed.

"I do not pity those who deserve it" And with that, she snapped his neck. Bailey was the strongest of her kind. And all around, the prettiest.

Sky was in the making of killing the man she was in front of. He was weeping, crying really. "My son!" He sobbed. Oh so he was that old? Sky then brought her feet up, defying gravity, to smash the man in the gut, knocking him backwards.

This action caused her too push herself up in an awkward position in order not to fall. She then smirked deviously, bringing the bladed scythe to connect with the man's neck. Clean cutting it right off.

Blood, something Sky surely did enjoy.
