This is it...
Eternal punishment in Tartarus.
How long will I last?
Will I even die?
I thought of all of these when suddenly, everything feels strange.
Suddenly... I feel warm. It feels as if my mom is hugging me. The warmth slowly spreading all over my body.
I opened my eyes, blinking a few times to adjust in the bright environment I am in right now.
This isn't Tartarus.
"Calm down, young one." Out of nowhere, a warm and soothing voice answered the question in my head.
"Who are you and where am I?"
I looked around to see myself standing in the middle of what looks like a throne room. Everything is made out of marble, there are glass windows with golden linings while the walls are adorned with precious stones and more.
"Gods..." I murmured in astonishment as I surveyed my surroundings. It's beautiful...
"I appreciate the compliment." I turned around to see a man around his early forties. He has dark and curly hair with gray streaks everywhere. He is wearing a silver cloak, beneath it was one of the most finest robes I have ever seen. His eyes are what attracted me the most- it's black, filled with what I think are galaxies and stars.
The man chuckled, stopping my train of thoughts.
"I believe you're confused right now. Am I correct, Perseus Jackson?"
To my experience, people only use my full name whenever I'm in trouble.
"Wh-who are you?" I asked slowly. He seemed powerful and I crouched a little, preparing my hands in a stance in case he attacks me.
"Don't worry Perseus, you can trust me. My name's Chaos, the creator of the universe."
My eyes widened and I kneeled in front of him.
"Lord Chaos." I greeted carefully. I know to myself that I should be wary with gods like him, especially after my experience with Gaea.
"Oh, no need for formalities. Stand up, this makes me feel old." A smile graced his features.
I stood up, still curious as to why I am here, "What exactly am I doing in here?"
There's a pause. He just stared at me without making any move.
"What's the last thing you remember?" He asked, resting his right hand on my shoulder as he stepped forward.
Then, everything came crashing down on me, it was like being thrown to an ice-water river. Flashbacks of everything they've said came through to my mind, and I can't help the tears that streamed down on my face. My heart clenched in pain, much worse than any pain I've felt.
I feel broken and lost.
I closed my eyes but then I felt something warm wrap around me. I came back to reality, just to see the lord of the universe give me a hug.
It's just a simple hug, but it's giving me the comfort I am craving of. I hugged Chaos back, giving a small sob as he said, "Rest Perseus. You need rest."
I closed my eyes, and I started drifting towards unconsciousness.
___
I woke up, beads of sweat dripping on my forehead. I looked around to see myself in a large bedroom. Beside me is Chaos, sitting at the bed.
"Relax, I mean you no harm." He told me.
