[March 5th, 2004]
Sabine Cheng took her 3-year-old daughter Marietta Cheng in the dairy isle.
Marietta: Mommy, i'm sleepy.
Sabine: Hold on baby, I have to get some eggs and milk. I know its late and I woke you up but I couldn't leave you at home alone.
Marietta growled softly as she watch her mother look at the expiration date on the eggs. Sneakily, the child ran away from her mother and wandered off in the fruit isle.
Marietta looked at all the fruits and picked an apple. She licked her lips and bit into it. Suddenly, Marietta was snatched and aha dropped the apple. She tried to scream but I came out my muffled. The person put a white cloth on Marietta's mouth, making the child sleep.
The person took the Marietta out the supermarket through the emergency exit.
Meanwhile, Sabine placed the eggs in her cart. She then realized that Marietta wasn't with her.
Sabine: Marietta?
Sabine carried her cart with her as she walked around.
Sabine: Marietta Thomas Dupain you better not be playing!
Sabine walked through some isles. When she reached the fruit isle she frozed when she saw a bitten apple. Sabine bent down and picked it up.
She studied the bite and gasped. It's her daughter's bite. Sabine dropped the cart she was carrying.
Sabine: Marietta!!
Sabine started to run around the store hoping she'll find her daughter.
Sabine: Marietta!!!
Sabine ran to the front where a cashier was at.
Sabine: Help me, I can't find my daughter.
Cashier: Okay, calm down, when was the last time you saw her?
Sabine: Like...5 minutes ago? I was looking down at some eggs expiration date and when I looked back she was gone!
Cashier: Okay, I'm going to call the police.
The police arrived 10 minutes later searching the whole supermarket. Sabine stood next to a Hispanic chubby detective with fair skin and brown messy hair.
Detective Morris: Hello, my name's Morris Judy and i'm a detective. You called because you're daughter went missing.
Sabine: Yes. Her name is Marietta Dupain. She's 3 years old with brown hair thats in pig-tails and bluebell eyes.
Detective Morris: Did you happen to talk to anyone before she went missing?
Sabine: No, I was just looking at some eggs expiration date.
Detective Morris: What did you're daughter say before she went missing?
Sabine: She said 'Mommy, i'm sleepy'. She didn't say anything else after that.
Detective Morris: Thank you.
Sabine: Have you checked security cameras?
Detective Morris: We checked, but it looks like the shifts were changing. And when the employees change shifts the cameras stop working for a moment. When Marietta Dupain went missing the shifts were changing.
Sabine started to cry. She couldn't believe that the supermarket and the police doesn't have any idea where her daughter is.
Detective Morris: Do you have anyone to call?
Sabine: I'll call my sister. My husband is out of town for his job.
Detective Morris nodded and walked away from Sabine.
***The person took off it's mask and was revealed to be 28-year-old Bridgette Cheng. She held the sleeping Marietta in her arms while she boarded on the train.
Bridgette sat down and placed Bridgette in the seat next to her to her left. Bridgette brushed the bangs out of the child's face and kissed her forehead gently.
Bridgette (Thinking): She looks just like Marinette. Except for the brown hair...but I could die it when I get back to Paris.
***The next day, Detective Morris stood in front the supermarket in New Haven while a crowed of a hundred were crowded around. He was holding a microphone so people could hear him better. Sabine stood there and to her left was her sister, Tina.
Detective Morris: This little girl is Marietta Thomas Dupain, who went missing at this very supermarket last night.
He said as he held up a picture of Marietta.
Detective Morris: Its the first time since the Michelle Louise abduction that a little girl went missing from this supermarket.
Detective Morris handed Sabine the microphone.
Sabine: I want my daughter back. I don't know how she went missing but I just want her back. I heard of Michelle Louise who was taken in 1990 from this very supermarket and was found 5 months later murdered. I don't want that to happen to Marietta!
Sabine sobbed into Tina's arms. Tina has long jet black hair with blue reflections just like Sabine and fair skin, and bluebell eyes.
Detective Morris took the microphone back.
Detective Morris: We're offering $10,000 for Marietta Dupain safe return. Thank you very much.
Some Paperazzi's were eager to ask some questions. The other people felt bad for Sabine.
***Bridgette arrived home in Paris, France. She set Marietta down on the couch and waited for her sister Lilian to arrive. Lilian has shoulder length black hair and brown eyes. She's 2 years younger then Bridgette making her 26-years-old.
Lilian knocked on the front door. Bridgette ran and opened it, letting Lilian in.
Lilian: Did you do it?
Bridgette showed Lilian where Marietta was at. Still, Marietta was sound asleep. Lilian gasped.
Lilian: She looks so much like Marinette!
Bridgette: I know. I'm going to die her hair jet black and add some blue reflections to match mine. She's perfect Lil, and today's the original Marinette's birthday. She's perfect!
Lilian: And you're not worrying about being caught?
Bridgette: Of course not. We live 1,000 miles away from New Haven. I won't get caught at all.
Marrietta began to stir and she woken up. She began to scream and kick. Bridgette ran towards her and sat down on the couch. She hugged the child gently in her arms.
Marietta: I...I...want my mommy.
Bridgette: Oh baby, I am your mommy.
Marietta: No...my mommy.
Lilian: She is you're mother. I'm you're auntie Lilian. Do you remember anything?
Marietta: I remember...being in a store and...and...thats it.
Bridgette signed in relief.
Bridgette: Its okay, you and I were in a store and you passed out. Okay Marinette?
Marietta: Okay...mommy.
Lilian smiled. She was against the kidnapping but as long as her sister's happy, she's Happy.
