Chapter 2

Alec POV

My first class of the day is English. Today my teacher wants us to pick one day from the break and write a 200-word essay about it. First, we had a class discussion about 75% of the class is going to write about what they did on Christmas or new years, so trying to break the norm I start to think of something unique I did over break. I've got nothing. I ended up writing about Christmas too. I was first to turn in my essay. I read the last couple of minutes as everyone else turns in their essays. After the bell rings, I quickly go to my locker the put my books away, then head to my next class. Even though it was technically break, I just couldn't wait to get to Photography. It is my favorite class after all.

As I enter the class, I immediately drop my stuff at my table in the back of the room. I go over to the teacher's desk, grab her key, and go to a camera from the cupboard. Because I am technically in photo4 I take out one of the more advanced Film cameras. As I graze the shelves I notice that one of the standard Digital cameras is missing.

"Who..." I turn around and to see a boy with dark hair with royal blue almost rainbow tips, his skin was a dark tan. He wore a dark purple top with a deep v neck, black skinny jeans, and a leather jacket, oh did I mention all of necklaces and rings. But the part of him that caught my attention most was his bright almost golden, green eyes that seemed to be piercing into my soul as he stared back at me.

"Umm..." I blush "have you... did you?"

"Oh I'm sorry, is this your camera? Ms. Fray said that I should just use the one that lined up with my seat number and that I could sit wherever I wanted because she was going to redo the seating chart anyway" he stands up and reaches around me, putting the camera away. "But I might just go and sit in the back by you," he said with a wink.

That's where his spell broke and I fell into my routine of sorts. "You can do what you wish, but I won't be staying in class because I'm technically in Photo4 and no that is not my camera. I'm using this one today." I walk over to the teacher's desk, return the keys, and grab my weekly checklist. "I may use one of those tomorrow though."

"Well, what's the difference?"

"See that's why you are in this class and why I am not." I am about to leave when Ms. Fray comes out of her office.

"Oh, Alec!"

"So you're alec"

"This is Magnus and he'll be like your partner today."

"Huh?"

"He is gonna follow you today while you're out and about. Can you teach him all he missed during his semester away? Great!"

"Ah, wait I.."

"Thank you, he needs to be caught up by next week. And you won't have to do you checklist till your done" She takes the list and camera from my hands. " oh and the two of you should start with the same camera, you know for learning." She comes back with two of the standard cameras, handing one to each of us. The bell rings and the rest of the class rushes in.

I walked to the back of the room adjusting my stuff so Magnus can put his next to mine. Once he's finished I ask him if he's ready to go?

"We can leave?"

"Um, yea. That's why I normally get here early so I can get out and photograph. It's the best way to teach you too. Lettuce Leaf."

"Okay. Wait was that a pun?"

"I don't know, Was it?"

"You totally did, o lard"

"Just come on, let's get out of here."
