New Beginnings"A War between two lives in you,
One Good, one evil.
Bloodline of nighwalkers
Will cause an Upheaval
The mighty will balker
and evil will falter"
The words of her mother replayed inside her head as Sophia laid a hand over her swollen belly. It had been 6 months since Jackson and Sophia moved into her grandfather's pack. The adjustment had not been easy, a lot of the members of the Athanasia pack did not agree with two strangers suddenly coming into their territory and taking power of the pack as quickly as they did. Sophia closed her eyes thinking of much simpler times as she felt her babies kick softly. As much as she was ready to meet the twins, part of her wished they could stay in her belly a little longer. Once they were in the outside world, it would be harder to protect them.
Since Jackson and Sophia had moved in, Braeden who was suppose to be next in line to rule over the pack had taken some of the members who disagreed with their ruling and left the territory, threatening to someday return and take back what was rightfully his. Despite his act of rebellion, many of the other members stuck by Sophia's side to honor Melanie. However they weren't exactly received with open arms.
6 Months Earlier
"How are you feeling?" Jackson looked over at Sophia as her grandfathers territory came into view. Sophia shifted nervously, Jackson held her hand and kissed it. As much as he wanted to tell her they would be ok, he wasn't as sure about that himself. Richard looked over at them from the passenger seat of the car.
"You two will be just fine, I know we don't normally get visitors in the area, or new members for that matter but the pack will welcome you." He said reassuringly. Sophia smiled despite her doubts, entering into a new pack was never easy. Specially if they were suppose to be the new leaders.
"Looks like we're here guys!" Peter said as they finally reached the entrance of the territory, he turned the car off and got out to help his daughter. He too was worried for his daughters safety, unsure of how the pack would react to Jackson. They had never accepted someone that was not of their kind. Peter hoped that seeing Sophia in her pregnant state would soften them a bit.
Richard led Jackson, Sophia and Peter towards the gate. Several of the pack members were out curiously watching them approach, especially at Sophia. Peter glanced over at his daughter "Don't be intimidated, it's just you look a lot like your mother, Sophie." Richard nodded in agreement.
"Welcome back Richard!" Braeden smiled at their alpha, he shook his hand. Jackson, Peter, and Sophia stood behind Richard as the rest of the pack members simply looked on at the strangers.
"Thank you Braeden, I see you've been running the place well. Let me introduce you to my granddaughter, Sophia, and her mate, Jackson." Sophia and Jackson smiled politely at Braeden and the rest of the pack. Many of them smiled excitedly at Sophia, which only made her want to freak out more. She felt Jackson squeeze her hand, smiling back at him she knew he felt just as nervous as she did if not more. At least she had a blood connection to the pack, Jackson was on totally uncharted territory.
