Jimin's POV
Detention. Once again.
Mr Jefferson is standing at the front of the classroom, checking attendance with a mean grimace on his face.
It's just me and the guys. Once again.
"Kim Seokjin."
"Here. Sir."
"Kim Taehyung."
"Aye."
Two loud coughs escape from the professor's mouth.
"HERE sir."
This time it was my fault. We only do ever get detentions together when we're late. But that happens quite often nowadays. The park probably wasn't the best idea. We came an hour late.
"Y/N?"
"Oh, yeah, she's the new girl." Jin bursts out.
Apparently, the professor isn't too impressed as he strolls over to Jin, slams his hand on the desk, leans in to him and whispers (but so we can all still hear) "Don't speak unspoken to Mr Kim. You are working your way up to another detention."
Y/N??? That rings a bell...
But before I have any more time to think about it, Mr Jefferson is at the front of the classroom again, placing a big fat cross next to the girl's name, and Namjoon is leaning in to us and says "I saw her today. She's in my Maths and English. Must be clever but looks like she could kick some serious butt."
Y/N??? The only Y/N I could think of was... Surely not here... Couldn't be...
Just as those thoughts circle my mind, an unimpressed-looking girl barges in through the door, causing everyone to jump in their seats.
"Y/N?" I exclaim along with the professor.
Your POV
"Jimin?" I mouth to him but turn towards the professor because I know I'm going to be in here quite often, so it's better to try and make at least some sort of conversation with the man who's going to ruin my life.
"Yes, that's me." I manage to choke out (because this definitely isn't my idea of fun) while playing with my hair but also attempting to give him a small bow.
Because I'm not straight up disrespectful. That's the misconception. I have just always found a way to speak my mind and act upon my will and no one else's, because that's something that remains unchanged.
Sometimes it does get too much, standing out from the rest, but that is a sacrifice I'm willing to make. I know I can get moody and short tempered and thoughtless but can't we all?
But I rarely go straight in with disrespect, no matter how bad my day has been or how conscious I am of the fact that I will hate that person because at the end of the day we are all human. And as humans we have the right to be treated equally.
Just because someone else has ruined my life doesn't mean I have to ruin theirs, which, however, more often is becoming not the case.
"May I ask why you are late?"
"Uhmm..."
The truth is I just took as long as possible to get here. God is he pissing me off.
"I just didn't feel like ruining my day with the sight of your fucking deformed face."
Oh crap. The disrespectful bitch is coming out again. I can't always calm her but the walk along the hallways really chilled me out so all I need are two clenched fists and a deep breath AND...
"Needed some fresh air. Don't feel too well." I think my tone sounds a bit too sarcastic.
"Is that so missus?"
"No, I wanna get home quick so just fuck off already."
"Yes sir, it is. Sorry. By the way."
I manage a small smile and so does he but deep inside I feel like we just want to kill each other so bad right now. At least I know I do.
"You may take a seat."
I stomp away, fists still clenched, breathing uncontrollable and take the seat in front of Jimin.
At least I think it's Jimin. He knew my name. And has some resemblance of the boy I was best friends with over three years ago.
