Roman's POV

It had been four days since Roman had moved in with Lana but they were so comfortable with each other that it felt like they had been living together much longer than that. Roman felt guilty about saying this but he had already forgotten about Trevor.

In the mornings Lana and Roman would get ready, Roman was staying in the guest bedroom, they would cook breakfast together. Lana didn't really have to cook breakfast because she would drink blood but she would help prepare Roman's breakfast anyway.

Roman was very good at cooking himself but of course his skills were good when compared to the general population. Lana's was exceptional. She would make the pancake batter and Roman would cook eggs and bacons, then they would flip the pancakes together... it was like a perfect picture.

Then Lana would drive to the university and Roman would go to his class and Lana to her teaching. Lana didn't have as much classes to teach as Roman had to attend so she would be free most of the time, in between classes and such but she didn't leave the university. When Roman had asked why, Lana had said she wanted to be close by if the vampire that was stalking him decided to return. So she would wait until his classes were finished, then they would go back to home. The rest of the day until they parted to their rooms usually alternated between snuggling and watching something together, Lana drawing or painting something while Roman read a book beside her or just talking and getting to know each other better.

Roman and his wolf were very content with how everything was going. It was even better than they could've imagined.

On the other matters, when it came to the topic of the vampire stalker, they hadn't been able to learn anything. Lana used every free moment of her days searching to find the person or learn about their intentions. She had asked Roman to tell her where he had seen the vampire and she had went there to try to pick up a trail or a clue to uncover his identity.

No such luck.

The alley that Roman had seen the vampire standing in was in a common public place and many people passed there every day. Even that vampires didn't have a specific scent, Lana was hoping to find the person's normal scent. Just like her pine and snow scent. But the humans that constantly passed by that spot had covered the scent and it was impossible to distinguish which one was the vampire's.

Then Lana had told Roman how the cameras in that region hadn't showed any sign of the vampire either. And Lana was usually in her office, probably contacting other people to get information from them too but Roman wasn't sure because Lana didn't talk with them next to Roman.

Right now they had nothing on the vampire that was stalking Roman.

And Roman could see how this was affecting Lana.

She was frustrated when a new attempt at following the vampire was coming up in a dead end. She never really lost her calmness or temper but Roman could read his mate clear as day. Her empty hands showed her incompetence at finding the threat against her beloved and this was tearing her on the inside. It didn't matter if Roman kept telling her otherwise, that was exactly what Lana was thinking on the inside.

And while all of this was going on, all Roman's wolf could manage to be was horny.

With Lana chasing after the vampire determinedly, there were only pecks and short kisses in between. And Roman was okay with that, he get to be with his mate, be beside her. That was more than enough for him. Also he didn't want to keep her from her search for the vampire because Roman understood the urge to protect his mate very well. Without doubt, he would do the exact same thing if the situation was reversed.
