Chapter Nine

[May 2nd, 2016]

Marietta woke up earlier before Bridgette and Lilian. She walked into the sleeping Bridgette's room and bent down. She opened some of her drawers. She found nothing.

She went into her make up kit on her desk, and found something shocking. She found a lot of credit cards with different ID's on them.

Marietta (Thinking): Why does she have so much?

Marietta out the ID's aside and looked deeper. She pulled out a birth certificate. She looked at the paper and gasp. The paper said that she was born in New Haven, but Bridgette told her she was born in Paris.

Marietta put the birth certificate aside and looked deeper. She pulled out a picture of Bridgette, a baby girl with curly jet black hair, and a man with raven hair and green eyes.

Marietta folded the picture and put it in her pajama pocket. She took her phone out and took a picture of the birth certificate. She put it back in and the ID's and closed the make up kit. She crawled back out Bridgette's room.

She made it back in her bedroom without being caught and sat down on her bed. Tikki woke up just in time.

Tikki: Why are you up so early, Marinette?

Marietta: I just went into my mom's bedroom. I found so many ID's with her picture on it but different names. Then, I found what looked like to be my birth certificate but it said that I was born in New Haven.

Tikki: There must be a explanation-

Marietta: No Tikki! I'm tired of this. My mom's keeping something from me. This isn't fair!

Tikki: Marinette calm down. You're aunt or mother can wake up any second. You know how they can be protective.

Marietta: I don't care. I want an explanation from them.

Marietta sighed then went back to bed. Few hours later, Bridgette woke up Marietta for school.

Bridgette: Wake up, Nette.

Marietta woke up but frowned when she saw Bridgette.

Bridgette: What's wrong with you? Why are you frowning?

Marietta: Nothing. Let me get dressed.

Bridgette nodded as she closed Marietta's bedroom door.

Marietta: I have to find out what my mom is hiding. And I will find out.

Tikki: Are you sure?

Marietta: Yeah I'm sure.

Few hours later, Marietta got dressed and had breakfast. She then went into Bridgette's car as she drove her to school.

In class, Marietta didn't​ speak to no one. Alya tapped on her right shoulder.

Alya: Girl? You okay?

Marietta: Yeah.

Alya frowned. She can tell when bee best friend is upset.

Alya: Seriously Marinette, I'm you're best friend. Talk to me.

Marietta: It's family related. I'll talk to you when I'm ready.

Alya nodded and looked down. She trust Marietta. Class went on normally. After school, Bridgette picked Marietta up.

Bridgette: How was school?

Marietta: Fine.

Bridgette: Are you okay?

Marietta: Yeah, I'm great. So fantastic!

Marietta replied sarcastically. Bridgette frowned.

Bridgette: I don't appreciate your tone with me, Marinette.

Marietta kept quiet the whole ride home.

Sabine arrived to her sister's house.

Sabine: Hey.

Tina: Hey.

Sabine: You're really going to Paris, France?

Tina: Yeah, I have a job there that's way better then my old one here.

Sabine: I'm just gonna miss you. I wish Marietta was here to say goodbye.

Tina: Hey, don't​ say that. I know you miss Marietta so much, but talking about her non-stop isn't healthy.

Sabine: You want me to pretend she didn't go missing?

Tina: I'm not saying that. Maybe you should just take a day off from work and go do you're hair or eat at a restaurant.

Sabine: With what money?

Tina took some money out her pocket and handed it to her sister.

Tina: Here's $35. Now, tomorrow take a day off and go out.

Sabine sighed before nodding.

Sabine: You're right. Thanks Tina, I'm really gonna miss you.

Tina: I'm gonna miss you too.
