Flight Feathers

Part 2 :)

(Hey guys sorry for the time that's it has taken me to write more on this also I own none of the pictures that are in this)

"Come on Selena you're so slow," called my only friend Jewel. "At this pace we will never get to training in time!"
"U-uh sorry I'm trying but my-" I stoped I felt my shame flood through my body as my wings again snagged on the branches of the bushes. "My wings are slowing me down again...." I said as more shame came to me.
Jewel sighed and shook her head as she jumped over a small rotting log. "The alpha won't accept excuses I hope you realize that."
"I know," I said as I followed her and jumped over the rotting log. "Why do we even have to come to training today? We already had training yesterday and the alpha said we can have rest."
"I hope you know the alpha doesn't like to be questioned." She said with a look of worry. "Don't your remember Raven?"
Memories flooded me as I shivered in fear of the horrors that I had seen when the alpha had kicked Raven out of our pack. "Yes I remember it was horrible." I admitted.
"Good," she replied. "I don't want that happening to you." She added.
As we passed by the river bank I could see the training camp. Man I hope the alpha is in a good mood today. I though as we entered the camp. But that hope quickly died when we heard a yowl of challenge coming from the other side of the camp.
"Whelp we're doomed," Jewel whimpered as she slowed her pace slightly.
I sighed and walked ahead of her to the area where the alpha saw how our fighting skills have come along. It was a small place with just some dirt and very small patches of grass here and there.
"FINALLY YOU DECIDED TO SHOW UP!" Shouted the alpha. "JEWEL GET IN THE RING NOW!" He screamed as Jewel slowly walked into the ring.
"Good luck Jewel," I said as she passed me to go into the ring.
"THORN STEP INTO THE RING!" Screamed the alpha. Thorn was older and larger than Jewel a strong mussel build and very sharp claws. Thorn walked confidently into the ring.
"FIGHT!" Howled the alpha.
Almost at once Thorn jumped in Jewels direction with claws extended and eyes focused on her. I saw the fear rise in Jewel as her hackles rose and she braced for the impact of Thorn. Thorn hit her like a rock and sent Jewel skidding across the dirt and rocks. Jewel jumped almost instantly back up into attack position. This time Jewel hurled herself back at Thorn and raked her shoulder with her claws I could see the blood start to reach the tips of her fur turning it red. I wanted to howl good job to Jewel but I stayed silent scared on what the alpha might say. Thorn was quick to respond and as Jewel ran past Thorn to try and get her from behind Thorn bit Jewel's back leg and yanked her back. With a howl of pain and surprise Jewel was on the ground panting and in panic. Thorn jumped on top of her and held her down. Thorns gaze rested back to the alpha who gave her a pleased nod.
"GOOD WORK." Howled the alphas deep voice. "Thorn you let your guard down and let Jewel strike your shoulder and Jewel...."the alphas voice went cold and dark, "be faster and you need to work on your defense you are small and need to learn to defend yourself."
Jewel looked at him with no emotion and nodded.
"NOW," howled the alpha "EVERYONE IS DISMISSED GO BACK TO THE CAMP!" All of the hard worked wolves at the camp slowly worked out of the training area and back through the forest to the camp.
I started to follow them when I saw something in the far side of the training camp. It was like a shadowy wolf figure it just stood there. As seconds pasted my fear rose but I decided to walk closer to it by now everyone was on their way to the camp so I was alone. My wings pressed tightly to my sides as I walked closer and closer so the shadow wolf. Until I was only a few paw steps from it.
"Hello there," it said I froze in shock but I didn't run or flench. "I am a dark forest wolf we are made of shadows we protect the forest...." I could feel my fear rise more and more the longer I stayed with this creature. "But I am here with a message THE TIME TO GO IS NOW ONLY UNTIL THE FIVE WINGS ARE LIFTED IN THE SKY ON THE STAR LONLY NIGHT WILL YOU SEE THOSE WITH ONLY HALF SOULS." It felt like the wolf was screaming at me even though I couldn't tell if his mouth was moving at all. The wolf started to slowly back up into the bushes and disappeared in the shadows. I stood there in the middle of the training camp..... Alone.
