My name is Jake. I can't quite explain it, but I've been getting this weird dream, but when i wake up i can't remember anything at all, except for one small detail a name "Maya". i was at lunch sitting with probably the only person close enough to a friend Jessica. She always listens and hardly ever argues with me. across the table from us was this mean guy named Austin. Jessica was a little short and shared common interests with me like, we both enjoy anime, superheroes, and have this thing where we talk about the supernatural stuff that happens around the world. Austin on the other hand was as small as a 6th grader and had this really high pitched voice, he always seemed to be on his phone and always talked like he a bit of anger being built up inside. he normally yelled at me for something or took my stuff, and he can also at times just do something stupid like slamming his hand on the table like he was now just to annoy us as we talked. "i'm telling you, something weird's going on with me and i can't explain it. i see images sometimes when i'm asleep and recently when i'm awake." Jessica gave me the look when someone tilts their head as if they think they know what you mean and are crazy as her golden long hair flipped behind her almost as if it were a natural reaction. her hazel eyes seemed to glow a faintly before shifting back to normal. "look, i know I've been crazy before but this is different, OK?" Jessica just kept staring like that for a while until she finally fixed her crooked head and said "well, let's do some research." after school was out Jessica and i went to the library which had closed a little bit before school ended. the librarian never locks her doors though so it was easy to get in and sneak around. "what time is it?" Jessica asked swinging her flashlight in my eyes. "first of all watch where you point that thing. second of all it's 8:30 at night and is pitch black out." i said moving my own flashlight to the bookshelves. "let's see here, i need info on angels, probably more specifically fallen ones." i said going through the list of authors from f-h which had like 40 different authors of books i didn't even need info on. i wasn't very good at doing the whole searching thing when it came to libraries. "over here i found the mother load." Jessica said quietly. i walked over to see a pile of books all with a different representation of a fallen angel, some looked like humans with no wings, others were the opposite and looked like humans with wings, and the rest were just humans with different numbers of wings. "here's one that's different." Jessica said swiping off the top row of the pile and reaching into the pile grabbing a book with a drawing of the devil with small red spiked horns and the goat beard under his chin. "that's just a joke book, clearly." i said. "don't judge a book by it's cover." Jessica said giving me that look again. "fine." i said i took the book and started to read it. i flipped through the pages until i landed on something that struck me as odd. a page ripped out of the book with some left over pieces stuck in the crevasse of the book. i turned to look at Jessica as she was now staring at me, we both seemed edgy and concerned. "BOO!" a voice from behind said. we both turned to see Austin right behind us. Austin started laughing saying "you guys jumped so high!" "no we didn't" i said calmly trying to argue with him. "you so did." he said trying to get the last say. "enough already." Jessica turned to me and gave me a "let's get the book and leave before Austin does something stupid again." look. i agreed in faces and we both decided to split up and meet up at the park tomorrow. it was gonna be one of those mornings. when i got up Saturday morning i had the weird dream again only now i woke up with a big headache and couldn't shake the feeling that something seemed off. i got out of bed and got dressed after getting a shower and told my parents i wouldn't be home for awhile and left out the front door. at the park, Jessica and i walked until we landed on a bench watching the people play with their kids and dogs. "so what do you think the person was looking for in here?" Jessica asked trying to read what was left of the paper. "i don't know but see this here? LUC in bold letters." i said pointing to where the word is cut off. "isn't that too easy though? i mean it clearly could mean Lucifer, as in the devil." Jessica said. "well we could always investigate more books?" i said sounding enthusiastic. "no thank you, this book is pretty creepy though." Jessica closed the book and stared at the torn up and creepy old picture. i thought i saw something move on the picture as i leaned in closer. suddenly out of nowhere i got in the back of the head by a Frisbee and i got a closer look at the book which seemed like it was now grabbing hold of my face. i backed up as soon as i could and the book was back to normal. "yeah, this book is definitely creepy." i said trying to explain what just happened. "well, why don't you come over to my place later tonight and we'll see what the power of google as to offer?" i asked. "OK, sure." Jessica said getting up and leaving with the book in her arms. when i got home i put on my pj's for a little bit while i scoured my closet. "i don't know, i just have this weird feeling something is going to be in here?" i thought to myself as i searched finding nothing. i was moving my shirts strung up on hangers rackets when i found some sort of cosplay suit, it looked like some sort of cross between a trench coat and a jacket. "when did i get this?" i thought holding it over my body. i had a sinister idea to put it on and see what i looked like in it. after a struggle to put the darn thing on i looked in the sliding mirror on the bathtub in our bathroom and saw myself looking similar to someone from SAO. "man, why's this so leathery? and how come it's oddly...normal." i thought as i started getting some sort of intense headache. an image flashed before me i was seeing two gray and black feathered wings perched up on my shoulders. the image quickly faded, but for some reason i remembered it this time. i thought i heard movement and noises like whispering coming from somewhere, but i couldn't make out what it was. i ignored it for now suddenly the door bell rang and i went to go answer it. "hey Jessica come on in." i said as i looked my head up to see a mysterious stranger in a business suit and tie with a brief case in his hands. "hey, kid you gotta stop digging around that book alright?" the man said with a bit of a deep and satanic voice behind his own new jersey kind of accent. i shut the door as hard as i could on him and went to the kitchen to grab a knife. when i opened the drawers however everything once inside them had gone missing, and when i turned to see the way i came in blocked by the man in the suit as stiff as a rock. "what do you care if i snoop some dumb old book?" i asked. "this is important, i can't be having you reawakened so soon." he said as he took out a can of pepper spray and sprayed me with it. i woke up in bed with Jessica banging on the door as if it were her only way to live. i opened the door with Jessica coming in and breathing for air in fear. "i gotta tell you what just happened." we both said as we stared each other down not realizing what we were about to get ourselves into.
