Taken Back: The Kidnapping Of Marietta Dupain (Miraculous Ladybug Fanfic)

Chapter Ten

[May 5th, 2016]

Marietta spent the next few days wondering what Bridgette and Lilian are hiding. Tikki gave her an idea to check up her birth in New Haven. Marietta didn't know why, but she got an idea that she was maybe adopted.

So, she looked up birth in New Haven, but nothing pulled up. She went on several websites but nothing showed up.

Marietta was about to give up until she saw the website for "Missing and Exploited Children". She pressed the site and scrolled down some missing and found kids. She stopped when she came upon a picture of what looked like to be Marietta Dupain at the age of 3 and an age progression of what she may look like at 15.

Marietta gasp quietly. The age progression looked so much like her. She saw the number and took her phone to call it.

Daniel Rocker (From the phone): Hello? Missing and Exploited Children how may I help you?

Marietta (On the phone): Yes, my name is Marinette Cheng. I called because I have some information about a person who might be a missing child.

Daniel Rocker (From the phone): What is this person's age?

Marietta (On the phone): 15 years old.

Daniel Rocker (From the phone): What is this person's Appearance?

Marietta(On the phone): Jet black hair with blue reflections, fair skin, Bluebell eyes, and she always puts her hair in pigtails.

Daniel Rocker (From the phone): Who's she? Who's missing?

Marietta stared at the age progression picture and at the other picture. Her eyes widen when she gets a familiar flashback.

(Flashback- March 5th, 2004)

Marietta is biting from her apple, when a mysterious person sneaks up behind her and snatches her. She puts a white Cloth on her mouth, making her sleep. She carries her out through the emergency exit. She walks towards the train station and puts her down on the seat next to him/her. As the train began to move, the person takes off the mask and was revealed to be Bridgette Cheng.

(Flashback Over- present day)

Marietta felt tears falling down her face. She couldn't believe it. It's bad enough to find out that Bridgette isn't her mother, but to find out that she was kidnapped​!

Daniel Rocker (From the phone): Hello? Are you still there?

Marietta (On the phone): Yes.

Daniel Rocker (From the phone): Can you tell me who's missing?

Marietta (On the phone): Me, I am. My name's Marietta Dupain.

Daniel gasped as he called a person over to him. He put his phone on speaker.

Daniel Rocker (From Phone): Marietta Dupain? The 3-year-old who went missing in Albee Central supermarket 12 years ago?

Marietta (On the phone): It looks like it. Bridgette-the woman I thought was my mom is the woman who snatched me from that supermarket. It's the reason why I never seen myself as a baby on the walls of the house.

Rick Foyer (From the phone): Marietta this is Rick Foyer, Daniel Rocker's partner. Can you tell us where you are?

Marietta: Paris, France. My address is 12 route gotlib rode.

Rick Foyer (From the phone): Perfect. We'll send some police in Paris to you're address​.

Marietta (On the phone): No! Let me talk to Bridgette. I wanna know why she took me.

Rick Foyer (From the phone):  Okay, but you have to call police as soon as your talk is over. Got it?

Marietta (On the phone): Got it.

Rick hanged up and Marietta looked down.

Tikki: I'm so sorry.

Marietta: Why'd she take me? Why'd she take me from a family I had?

Tikki: I don't know.

Marietta heard the front door open, so she quickly got off the site and Tikki hide. Lilian came in the living room.

Lilian: Hey Nette.

Marietta: Hi Aunt Lilian.

It hurts Marietta to call Lilian aunt now. She knew that Lilian isn't her real aunt, but the real question is if Lilian knows.

Lilian: What's wrong? You look like you were crying.

Marietta: I'm fine.

Lilian nodded as she went upstairs.

Sabine was at home when she got a call. She saw it was from the police station. She gasp as she answered it.

Sabine (On the phone): Hello?

Detective Morris (From the phone): Mrs. Cheng, it's me Detective Morris.

Sabine (Onthe phone): Oh! Detective Morris it's been so long. How are you?

Detective Morris (From the phone): Yes I'm fine. I have good news.

Sabine (On the phone) What is it?

Detective Morris (From the phone): We think we found Marietta Dupain.

Sabine's heart pounded faster and faster.

Sabine (On the phone): R-really? Are you for real?

Detective Morris (From the phone): Daniel Rocker, a worker in the Missing and Exploited Children, got a call from a 15-year-old girl named Mariette Cheng. She was later identified as Marietta Dupain.

Sabine felt tears falling down her face.

Sabine (On the phone): Where is she?

Detective Morris (From phone): She's living in Paris, France.

Sabine (On the phone): I'll call my sister Tina, she's living there as well.

Sabine hanged up and cried. She looked up at her ceiling.

Sabine: Thank you Lord! She's alive! My little girl's alive!
