Abby got out of the car when Aaron said he was on the roof, and watched him jump. "No!" she screamed intensely. She looked to where he was going to land, and saw the pond, "What in God's name are you doing!?" she yelled.
Aaron fell for a while and finally plunged into the water. The pond was deep, twenty to thirty feet deep, and was very cold, and it shocked him. He swam to the shallow end of the water, and eventually walked out. He had his arms crossed and was shivering immensely. He ran to the car where Abby was standing outside of, watching him. He arrived at the vehicle and said, "They must've heard me say I was on the roof, or crawling through the vents, or something because they traced me." He got in the car and continued to speak. Abby drove back to his house. "There was a door, a door that led to the roof," he shivered in between some of his words, "but crates were blocking the door, which gave me a chance to come up with an escape."
"You're crazy, you know that?" Abby exclaimed snarkily.
"Hey, I didn't know what they would do if they caught me. So I jumped off the roof into the pond, thankfully, the pond was deep enough for me to not touch the bottom and break my legs."
"Yeah, good thing."
They drove for twenty minutes with the car radio playing some instrumental acoustics. Finally, they arrived at Aaron's house. The sun had started setting, and the winds began picking up. They quickly ran inside, and Aaron got into a new change of clothes. Abby laid on the couch and thought about everything that had happened that day. Abby grabbed her radio and looked at it. "This is so handy, all you do is hold a button, and talk into it," she said to herself, "so much easier to get in contact with someone than calling or texting them.
"-got out... They got out, okay!"
"What?" Abby whispered to herself.
"The guy jumped off the roof, he landed in a pond or something."
Another man began to speak, "Hadrian, I told you once already, but I'll say it again," he said benevolently, "You have to KILL them! Make them SUFFER! They CAN'T know a thing!" his tone changed quickly, into a devilish hollar. Abby couldn't believe what she was hearing, but continued to listen.
"Yes, sir."
"Good..." he paused, "Head back to the L.A. We'll discuss more on the subject tomorrow."
"Oh, my, goodness!... Aaron!" she yelled.
Aaron was walking out of the bathroom, and replied, "Yeah, what's up?"
"Someone else on the radio was just talking."
"What do you mean?"
"Someone else, probably the people that attacked you, were just talking, and didn't realise the button was pressed."
"So, what you're saying is that, the radios are tapped?"
"Yes!"
"Someone found the frequency we use, and was listening to our conversations?"
"What is happening, Aaron?!" Abby was terrified. After the conversation between the two men, and the tapped radios, she was very fearful. "Wait, they mentioned something about L.A."
"What did they say?"
"If I remember correctly, they said 'we'll meet again in the L.A.', or something like that."
"They'll meet in 'the' L.A.?"
"I guess?"
"Could they mean the city of Los Angeles? Or, I don't know."
"The one thing that makes this tricky to unravel is that they said 'the' L.A. What could that even mean?"
Perhaps, a specific place in L.A. that they visit all the time. Like a museum, or famous restaurant. Like a hideout, per say?"
"Yeah, maybe you're right. Maybe it's a place they go all the time, and call it 'the' L.A, because it's such a big thing. Ugh... this is difficult to decide."
The radio began to release static, and eventually the men began to speak again, "So, did you hear the news?"
"No. What news?"
"Well, turns out that Foster is finally back."
Aaron stood up and said, "What?" he said this quietly and slowly.
"Oh, really?"
"Yeah, after he faked that heart attack, he finally... Oh, shoot! The radio is-"
Aaron and Abby looked at each other. Their eyes met, and they both turned pale white like ghosts. "I think I'm gonna be sick." Abby said while holding her stomach.
"I- I can't-" Aaron said hesitating. "I can't believe this."
"What are we going to do?"
"I don't know. We can't get help from Foster anymore... because, you know."
"Yeah..."
"Let's just get some sleep. We'll go deeper into this tomorrow." he said faithless.
"Okay."
