I roll my eyes at Lindy and Ruby walking away in such a ridiculous way. Lindy, Ruby, and James are nice, but they're not my type of friends. They're popular, and I know they would never give that up. Not for me at least. I'm not worth it. They like The Wanted, I like Bastille. They watch Pretty Little Liars, I watch Agents of SHIELD. They read Twilight, I read Divergent. They wear purple, I wear black. They have Uggs, I have combat boots. They wear Bethany Mota, I wear concert tees. They have North Faces, I have an army jacket. Need I go on? So anyways, I was sitting at my desk as Mr. Lingman was droning on about pronouns. I was bored out of my mind, so I took out my phone in secret. I instantly saw texts from my psychotic besties, Jade Reacher, Lizzie MacTrester, Tawny Audlen, Colette Frentyson, and Elsie and Annetta Frost. Inclosed were pics of them on their first day at Cedar Tree Academy, my old school. All their texts were questions about Lincoln. To my surprise, there was a text from my boyfriend, Marco Wilkins. It read, "Hope ur not having too much fun without me @ Lincoln. Miss u babe. Luv ya eternal. Lets be alone together sometime. XD" I smiled at his Fall Out Boy reference. I miss Marco. I miss when we kissed in his dad's music room to the sounds of Ed Sheeran. I miss his tousled dirty blond hair and his alarming brown eyes. I miss how he brought me out of my shell when the popular bitches, Priscilla, Megara, and Tanya teased me till I broke down. He was my everything. At least he hasn't broken it off -yet. Tawny texted me about this new girl named Andrea "Andy" Perkins. Apparently, she's a lot like me, except prettier. I hope Marco stays faithful to me. I love him more than anything in the world. He knows about my secret and loves me just the same, which is good. I shut my phone off and stuff it in my pocket before Mr. Lingman sees. I have to pay attention so I learn whatever crap this is. I want to be a singer-songwriter/author/actress when I grow up, and English is a major part of all of those careers. The bell rings (finally!) and I get up from my seat. James approaches me. "I haven't properly introduced myself. I'm James. You're Jessica, right?" He smiles crookedly. "Yeah, why?" I respond. "You're pretty. Even prettier than Lindy. Let's hook up." he says in an awful sexy voice. I'm startled, and I gasp rather loudly. "No. Lindy is your girlfriend. Besides, I have a boyfriend already." I start to walk away, but he pulls me into his arms and starts to cradle me. I'm disgusted. I look around, and I see Lindy and Ruby staring at James and me in horror. Lindy stomps over to me. "What are you doing with my boyfriend, Jessica?" She scowls in anger at me. I can't speak all of a sudden. "I thought we were friends, Jessica! Now, I'm gonna make your life here at Lincoln miserable." She, Ruby and James storm away, leaving me here. Great. I have officially made three new enemies on my first day here before lunch. Damnit.
