Chapter 1

Without thinking Jude ran out of the party, she didn't know where she was going but anywhere away from James would be good enough. But the more she ran, the more she didn't recognize where she was.

Where am I?... Jude cried to herself as she kept on running.

Suddenly, something knocked her down. Jude looked up as she saw a rather handsome young man-about her age but older-swiftly standing up and looking down at her.

"You alright?" he asked, his expression said that he was irritated. But also a bit stressed out. He had dark brown hair and beautiful green eyes, his chin was in a perfect shape and he had this dark sexy voice. Jude quickly saw his clothes and this word in her head kept playing in there. A robber! He's a thief! He'll kill you!

"Here! Take my purse!" She quickly stood up and reached out her purse to the stranger.

"I don't want your damn purse", he said as I heard a sound in the background.

"Hey Cinderella! Dropped your slipper?" an unknown voice said. Both Jude and the young stranger turned to see two men, smirking.

"Damn Codey, why do you always get the good looking girls?" the other guy asked, winking slightly at me.

"Leave her alone", the guy Jude guesses is called "Codey" said.

"What are pretty girls like you doing out here late at the night?" one of the guys asked, "It's pretty dangerous you know?".

Codey moved his hand to his back pocket and pulled out something that looked like... A gun?! He pointed the gun at the two men without saying anything. An angry expression on his face, and now also on the other two.

"Alright, you're off the hook for this time, but we're gonna come back!".

"And don't forget your father owns us big time!".

Jude couldn't take it anymore, she was around three men who god knows how dangerous they might be. She quickly ran away and turned back to see if they were chasing her. Luckily, they weren't.

She stopped at a bus station, looking if there were any bus active. There was only one, it would arrive in about twenty minutes. Jude sighed as she sad down on the bench. But no wonder why there's only one bus going. The neighbourhood wasn't popular and it's incredibly late at night.

It was then when Codey came, he stopped in front of Jude as they stared at each other.

"Stop following me!" I pouted to break the silence.

"I'm only trying to help you", Codey said, "Look, call your mom and get her to pick you up".

"I can't, she thinks I'm sleeping", Jude feels like she's doomed for life. Mom will probably ground her and stay mad at her forever. Then, Jude heard something. Police? She thought, looking at the direction of the sound. Then, back to Codey. He looked around as well, but he looked very worried.

"Look, I gotta go", he said about to turn around until Jude stopped him.

"Wait!" she shouted, "What if those guys come back?".

"Just get home safe", he said as he ran, and Jude couldn't see him anymore.

She just stood at the bus station waiting for the next bus. It seemed to be coming in ten minutes. Did it really take that long? She thought.

"What's wrong?" Cecilia asked, looking at her daughter who was crying by her bed.

"James, he broke up with me...", Jude cried, feeling how her mothers arms wrapped around her to a tight hug.

"Oh, sweetie. Try to get some sleep, you'll feel better after it", Cecilia said, she kissed her daughters forehead and left the room to get herself some sleep.

~Next Morning~

Mom said sleeping would make me feel better, ugh. Feels like I got hit by a wrecking ball... Jude thought to herself as she put on her outfit for the day. She wore a dark green crop top and a pair of black jeans as she posed in front of the mirror until she saw the time. 08:20.

"Shit!" Jude ran down the stairs, she grabbed her bag as she took a sandwich that mom made her, she put on her white sneakers and waved her mom goodbye. "See ya, mom!".

~MARY PREP HIGH~

Jude walked her way to her next class as she saw Kim, her best friend, sitting at her desk with her phone in her hands until she saw Jude. She put the phone down and smiled so much Jude thought she could scare off a sinister with it.

"Hey, Jude! Get your ass over here", she shouted, getting all the attention from the other classmates. Jude ran to Kim as they sat beside each other.

"Alright, now you need to tell me why you left me alone at the party yesterday! You just busted out of there!" she complained. Jude's expression suddenly turned blank as Kim noticed that she said something wrong. "What's wrong?" she asked.

"Well, James... he broke up with me..", Jude said. She looked at Kim who just sat there, in shock.

"WHAAAT TH---!".

"Kim Hedin, please quiet down!" the teacher shouted as she started the class. "Open your books to page seventy-six and read to eighty-seven".

Jude looked around for Kim as she seemed to run off somewhere after class.

"Jude!" Kim shouted, she ran up to her as they started walking back home.

"What were you doing?" Jude asked.

"Oh, nothing important really!".

Jude sensed something weird, but she shook it off after saying goodbye to her best friend. As Jude walked in to her house she saw her mom at the kitchen counter waiting for her.

"Hey sweetie, how was school?" she asked.

"It was okay..", Jude said, not really knowing what to say in this moment.

"Today we'll be having a new person who will be staying with us", Cecilia said.

"Oh, how long?".

"That depends.. he just needs to find somewhere to stay until he can move out. But for now he will be staying at our place".

"Alright, and who is he?" Jude asked, rather bored in this situation.
                  "He's actually here, just in the bathroom", Cecilia said. And we waited for the guy in the kitchen, after a while, he came out. And Jude couldn't believe her eyes...
                  It was the same guy who saved her from those other two men yesterday. Jude's jaw dropped as she just started at the man.
                  "Codey, this is Judith Gem, Judith, this is Codey Bratcher. He will be staying for a long time"...
