Narrator POV:

[May 11th, 2016]

Sabine meant what she said when she went said she'll take care of everything. She is driving to the police station to have a word with Bridgette.

When she arrived, she parked outside and entered the station. She went to the desk in the front.

Sabine: My name's Sabine Dupain and i'm here to see Bridgette Cheng.

Officer: Does she know you're coming?

Sabine: No.

Officer: Go into the chatting room, we'll put you through security.

Sabine nodded as someone showed her where the "Chatting Room" is. She saw Bridgette coming in through the other side. The two sat down at a table as a security guard watched from the other side of the room.

Sabine: Why'd you do it?

Bridgette: To me it looks like nothing been done to you.

Sabine frowned deeply at Bridgette.

Bridgette: What you upset for? You have her now.

Sabine: I may have Marietta now, but you stole 12 years from me. I wasn't there on her first day of kindergarten, or first grade. I wasn't there when she had her first crush. Those were the moments that I'll never have.

Bridgette: They put my sister in jail.

Sabine: So?

Bridgette: She didn't do nothing. They put her in jail cause she didn't tell no one that I had a missing child.

Sabine: What the hell does this have to do with our conversion?

Bridgette: What do you want me to say?

Sabine: Why'd you take my daughter?

Bridgette looked down and sighed sadly.

Bridgette: I had a daughter who's name was Marinette. I loved her so much. One day, I was taking her a shower. I heard the phone ring from the living room so I got up. When I came back 2 minutes later, I found her under water. My sister and i dug her in an unmarked grave. No one else in our family knew about the death but my sister. I was in so much pain. 4 months later, I went to visit one of my old friends in New Haven and thats when I saw her. Nette looked just like Marinette.

Sabine: You took my daughter to replace you're dead one?!

Bridgette: Yes. It was perfect when I took her. My folks didn't even see the difference. People started saying we looked alike. They started calling her 'Nette'. Everyday she became more and more mine-

Sabine: She was never yours, she was mine!

Bridgette: I FED HER! I CLOTHED HER! I WATCHED HER GROW! I GAVE HER LOVE AND DISCIPLINE!

Sabine frowned.

Bridgette: I know you're angry. But it hurts when you find your daughter dead underwater in you're bathtub. I wanted my daughter back desperately. Nette was my chance to have my daughter back. At first, I saw her as a replacement. But as she grew I began to love her more then that. I never wanted to let her go.

Bridgette started to cry.

Bridgette: I wanted her all to myself. Cause...I love her. She was more then a replacement. She was my miracle worker, my baby girl. I would always be strict towards her and protective, but thats because I loved her.

Sabine: You caused so many pain to me, my husband, and our family back in New Haven.

Bridgette: I'm sorry.

Sabine: I know I only came here for answers, but I guess I could forgive you.

Sabine stood up and walked away.
