I finally got home after a long day. As I walked in my apartment, my mom was pacing around the room, mumbling to herself.
"Mom?" I said, worry in my voice.
"Oh thank goodness," She said, hugging me. "Where were you?"
"Uh, I met up with, someone from school. Yeah."
I couldn't just tell her about Lance. If I told anyone here I met someone from the Down Under, I would've been arrested. Or worse, sent there.
"Someone from school?" My mom questioned, "a friend?"
"No. They saw me around the halls and stopped me."
"And you talked with them for two hours?"
I scratched my head, "Time flies when you're having fun."
My mom sighed, "Get changed and get your homework done. The end of the year is coming and if you want to get into college you need to keep those grades up."
"K" I said, sliding into my room.
I closed the door behind me and threw my backpack onto the floor. I collapsed on my bed and sighed. Wait, I thought, Lance's photo. The photo was in my pocket, the laminated, faded photo somehow didn't fall out of the pocket. I looked at it. The photo seemed normal at first, then the more I looked the more I saw it's imperfections. Lance was in the middle, surrounded by his friends I presume. To his right was a girl with short, blue hair. She seemed normal, until I looked at her clothing. Spiders covered her clothes. I thought they were a print, then when I looked closer, they were to realistic to be fake.
To his left, there was a pale, skinny man with very long, mangled hair. His had bags under his eyes, and accompanied by his all black clothes, gave off an emo or gothic look to him. He had a lot of jewelry, which I wondered how he got it. But that wasn't it.
Next to the gothic man was a weathered old woman. She had brown clothing and whore her gray hair in a bun. She didn't have the look I would expect on a old woman's face though. It was stern, and it seemed like she was going to hurt them or break up the photo. I don't know if it was the photo, but her eyes seemed red.
They look so, weird, I thought. Lance was really the only one there that looked normal, and happy. Maybe it was just that photo but...
My mom burst into my room, startling me.
"Do you have your homework done?" She said.
"Yeah." I said bluntly, thanking that me being startled turned the photo upside down and on the floor.
"Well don't sit around, look over it!"
It took all my strength not to sigh, "Ok!"
"Don't give me an attitude!" She said and closed the door.
I didn't even gave her an attitude, I thought. I picked up the photo and tucked it into my back pocket and got to work.
I'm sorry it was short! I'm kinda busy with finals and stuff. I hoped to write more, but I didn't want it to take forever, so. I'm sorry!
