The beginning

"Claireeeeee!" my best friend Danielle yelled. "Oh um yep" I reply trying not to make it too obvious that I zoned out...again. "Yea no, this is me Clairebell, your best friend, the one who knows EVERYTHING about you" she reminds. I know the use of my full first name is to highlight her slight annoyance. "I know, I'm sorry, I'm trying, just got a lot on my mind" I confess. "Yea like what, school, boys, home, oooh food?" She blurts. I sigh; lately I've had a lot going on in my little world. Yes Danielle is my best friend, but I don't want to run her off either. She's been there for me since 9th grade even though we didn't get close until beginning of senior year she's my best friend. I blab her ear off about my problems all the time so I attempt to change the subject and dodge the conversation. "You know that boy Jimmy really likes you" I say with a smirk. "First no, he has a girlfriend and second don't try and change subject, what's up?" Attempt fail, but that doesn't stop me from trying once more "Yea he does he even asked me to give you his number in" Danielle gives me a look that cuts me off before I can finish a stern "Answer the question. Now." to follow.
"Okay fine" I cave "Not now though it's super long and I should start on my essay now"
"Alright bell you win but just for now, do your stupid essay then you're spilling".
I mentally sigh in relief but only offer a silent nod. I'm proud of myself for having maneuvered past it, right now I didn't want to unload it all on her."Be back in an hour I'm going to hang out with Kevin" Kevin is her boyfriend they've been flirting for eternity and he just worked up the guts to ask her out; they're the cutest. I wave to her and set my sights on my essay that's due in about an hour. "Lord help me" I whisper as reality hits.
