CHAPTER 14
I woke up and Hayes was in my room.
"Hayes?" I asked to see if it was him.
"Mercedes! You're awake!" he said happily
"Yeah, why are you here?" I asked him.
his smile turned into a frown
"uh, I don't know. I wanted to see you." he said stuttering.
"oh." I said quietly looking down.
"Mercedes?" he asked
"Yeah?" I said looking down.
"Do you still like me?" he questioned
"Uh, I don't know. Like as in the way I liked you when we were dating" I asked him.
"Yeah." he asked kicking his feet
"I don't wanna like you like that anymore." you could tell that hurt him.
he didn't reply..Crap
"Hayes, do you still like me, as much as you liked me when we were dating?" I questioned him
"No. I never liked you."
my heart stopped, I wanted to throw my phone at him, but that was somewhere else. I just wanted to yell at him but everyone I know is out there. I never felt this low before, this guy I really likeD just told me he never liked me. That was a hole 6 months with Hayes Grier, just some other kid with a vine famous older brother. He's only famous because of him, he couldn't be famous without him.
"I loved you." Hayes said finishing his sentence.
"what?" I asked confused.
"I loved you." He says putting his head down.
"No you don't" I said stupidly
FACEPLAM!! Why did I say that 'no you don't.' Dear god kill me now.
Hayes looked up at me.
"Yes I do! I have since the first day I saw you." He stated
"You can't love someone you don't know!" I said forcefully
"Haven't you ever heard of love at first sight?" He asked
"Haven't you ever heard of long distance relationships?" I asked sassily.
He stormed out of the room, great job Mercedes. Pyper walked into the room and asked what happened with Hayes.
"He's being a dip." I said folding my arms
"Never mind, he's not, I am. I made a big statement about how he doesn't love me, and then he tried to tell me he does, then I was being an ass and he stormed out." I admitted.
"Oh. Well why don't you apologize?" She asked.
"Uh, I just got hit by a car. I can't fricken move. Are you retarded?" I asked her
"Hey! Don't go all pmsy on me!" She yelled
"Get out!" I yelled forcefully
"Fine!" She said stomping out.
God Mercedes what's wrong with you. First Hayes now Pyper.
I turned on the tv and the news was the first channel on
"Escape mental patient in Mooresville area." The news reporter said.
That's all I needed to hear before I ran out of the hospital, I was still in my leggings hoodie and white vans. Brent tried to stop me but all I could think about is 'where is Hayes?' I ran around the hospital looking for him until I realized he isn't here. I texted him
M- where r u
H- outside
M- did you not here the news!
H- no
M- there's a escape mental patient in Mooresville
H- r u serious?!
M- yeah! Get here now!
H- On my way!
I waited a few minutes until the hospital went on lock down. I ran to one of the doctors to tell them to open the door
"Hey! You have to keep one of these doors open, my friend is on his way here!" I told him
"Oh, sorry dear. I can't do that, we are on lock down because the mental patient is around here." He said walking away.
I freaked out and called Hayes.
"Hey. The hospital is on lock down!" I said freaking out
"Holy crap! What do I do?" He asked
"Get home! The guy is around the hospital! I'm looking out the window I see you." I yelled
"But wha-" I cut him off
"HAYES RUN HE'S BEHIDE YOU!" I screamed loud enough that Hayes could probably hear me without the phone.
All I saw was a black figure grab Hayes, tears ran down my eyes as I yelled for Nash and Brent.
I was downstairs trying to open the door when one of the doctors came up to me and started telling me I can't do that, I was freaking out and not paying attention and I accidentally elbowed him in the nose and gave him a bloody nose. I finally opened the door and me Brent and Nash ran towards the figure. I was the first to catch up with the guy and I grabbed his hoodie and pulled him back. But he was too strong, I ended up falling and he picked me up, he grabbed me and Hayes and ran away. Once we were far enough he put us in a van and drove off, I don't know where though. I gotta call from Pyper. I answered it and it was a doctor he said they knew who he was..
