There was a noise behind him, the sleep deprived, frail-looking brunette turned to see his old friend, gun in hand pointed at him. His voice trembled slightly as he spoke out, "Alex?" the camera shook in Jay's hand as he stepped backwards. "Alex?" His voice was a bit stronger this time.
Alex fired the gun and Jay is blown backwards a bit, gasping and coughing in pain.
He started to run, stumbling into a nearby wall only to see his old friend still approaching with the gun still pointed at him. Jay ran again, quickly entering a nearby room and shutting the door behind him before collapsing on the ground by the closest wall. His vision swirled as the room slowly faded into black.

A few days later, Jay's eyes flutter open and are burned by the seemingly blinding overhead light. He closes them and shakes his head, then reopens them realizing he's in a hospital bed, confused and worried. 'Isn't this new.' He thought sarcastically as his hazel eyes search the room over. He smiled after seeing the familiar face. He's grown quite fond of those sad brown eyes in the past few months.
He cleared his throat then tried to speak, "Tim?" His voice croaked out, making the man sitting next to him nearly jump out of his skin. He looked bewildered, as if his friends voice was something he'd been waiting to hear his entire life.

"You're awake.." Tim spoke up, almost in disbelief, clasping his hand gently around the frail one resting on the bedside.
"I thought I was dead... " the thin, light brunette spoke again, tightening his grip on the other man's hand, attempting to sit up. He felt a sharp pain in his side and fell back onto the bed.
Outside a loud clap of thunder jolted the two love birds from their faux reunion.
"Heeeey you guys!" a familiar voice echoed through the now silent room. The dirty blonde man stepped in, shutting the door back behind him. There were several moments of silence and many confused looks as the man took a seat at the end of Jay's bed. "I see sleeping beauty is awake now!" he broke the silence with a bit humor, attempting to lighten the steadily deep and darkened mood.
"Brian, you're alive too?" there seemed to be a small bit of anger in Tim's voice as it rose, but he stopped himself, only letting go of Jay's hand to hug his old friend tightly.
Brian gasped a bit at the warm embrace, "oh, Tim. I knew you missed me but I didn't think you missed me that much!"
Jay smiled, seeing his friends joking around a bit. It's been forever since any of them had truly smiled, though here in the hospital, everything seemed okay for once.
The injured jaybird spoke up, capturing both his friends' attention. "How did I even get here?"
"It's simple. I followed you assholes all over God's green earth trying to help you not die." Brian smiled at his friends. "Then knowing that you'd try to stake out Alex and Tim, I called an ambulance. It just happened to get there on time."
They were all silent for a few more minutes, perhaps taking in the sound of the rain on the window. Or maybe they were all just content with the fact that they had survived.
Whatever it was one thing was for sure.

Everything is fine.
