See the Light

Clara P.O.V

Days, weeks, and months have passed ever since my reveal. Some students have gotten over it, but some are still stalking me, which is very creepy in my opinion. Ash and I had our Champion match a few weeks earlier, making me the new Champion of Kanto.

Right now we were in recess, eating our lunch when I heard ~Clara, I need to speak with you~

I abruptly stood up and ignored all the confused stares of my friends. I shot them an apologetic glance and shot out of the cafeteria, but was interrupted when Ash took my hand. "Where do you think you're going?"

I thought of an excuse. "My mom... She-uh, she called Professor Sycamore to tell him I need to go home."

"How did you know? I didn't hear him call your name," Ash said, clearly not buying my excuse.

"He was standing by the door, and he waved me to come over to him," I gulped.

"Really? I didn't-" Ash said, but was cut off by Professor Sycamore.

I sighed in relief. "Professor Sycamore! My mother called you to tell you I was going home, right?"

"Yeah..." he said confused, but played along anyways.

Ash let me go. "Sorry, Clara."

He kissed my forehead before walking away with Pikachu. "See you later!"

I smiled at Professor Sycamore and broke into a run to where Arceus and I normally meet. We arrived, Ninetales sniffing the area to see if anyone followed us. After some more searching, she shook her head. 

Arceus majestically appeared in front of us. Ninetales and I kneeled down, and after his dismissal, we stood up and faced him directly. "You called?"

He seemed stressed. ~Clara, Hoopa Unbound was last seen 1 hour ago. Articuno told me he was approaching your school, and he didn't look happy~

"Well," I sighed. "We need to form a plan. I am not going to allow the same thing to happen."

Arceus shook his head. ~Me neither~

"Okay, what I have in mind is-" a piercing scream crossed our ears, almost leaving me deaf. Arceus and I looked at each other and he nodded, so I sped to where the scream came from. When I arrived, my eyes widened in fear.

There was Hoopa Unbound, attacking my precious school. Fire devoured the building, and some students were laying unconscious on the ground. I spotted Dawn and the others crouching behind a big boulder, so I quickly ran to to them, grabbing my PokéBalls and releasing my Pokémon in the process.

"What happened?" I yelled, making sure they could hear me.

Dawn was crying. "I-I don't know. We were in recess when this giant monster came out of nowhere."

I soothed her cries before turning my attention to Hoopa. I took out Dragonite's Pokéball and released him, my anger clearly clouding my face. He looked at me and understood the situation, so he shifted, allowing me to mount him. In one swift motion, Ninetales and I were on him, flying at full speed towards Hoopa.

Hoopa spotted us, and he soon directed all his attacks to bring us down. Dragonite dodged every attack, sometimes releasing some of his own. This continued for a while, until Hoopa managed to hit Dragonite. I stumbled and lost balance, making me fall rapidly. I hit the ground hard, and I heard someone yell, "No!"

I tried to stand up, but my body felt paralyzed. I couldn't move a finger.

I was trapped.
