"But I can help, for god's sake, this is not the Victorian time, where the women couldn't do anything else than look good. We have to help them, we can't just sit here and listen to our pack get killed."

I said angrily while I paced back and forth. I hadn't made it a secret that I was unhappy, that Emily had taken me back in the cave under the oak tree, and demanded that we stayed here, because it was what she had been told by Matthew and his father. And I can tell you that the girl could be stubborn once she had put something in her mind, and this time it was that we should both be down in this godforsaken cave until things calmed down. Emily where sitting on the stairs leading up to the only exit from the cave, and it was obvious, that she was not going to budge until she was told that it was safe. I'm look surprised at her as she smiled wryly at my last outbreak, and said irritably.

"What?"

Emily shook her head, while her smile grew even larger.

"Do you realize that you just call The Dust pack OURS? Have you accepted that you are the next Alpha Female?"

She asked, and I looked at her in surprise. I hadn't been aware that I had described myself as part of the pack, but if I thought about it, it was the way I felt, I couldn't bear to think about just one of those many sweet and friendly people, who the last few weeks had welcomed me into their pack, should be injured or even worse die, and all because of me, because I couldn't defend myself when Steffanie and Charles had overwhelmed me outside the pack house. But when Steffanie had come to me, and had changed into a wolf in front of me, and then growling advanced towards me, it was a reflex to back away from her, I hadn't noticed that there where anyone behind me before I was caught, and my arms were quickly tied together on my back, my screams were muffled by a hand over my nose and mouth, the person was holding so tight that I was afraid that they intended to kill me. But when we came farther into the forest, the hand had gradually let go, and I could once again breathe some much needed air into my lungs. I had no idea what was going on but knew, that since Charles and Steffanie was part of it, then it weren't good for me, so I put up quit a fight, which was part of the reason why I had so many bruises and cuts . But I wasn't going to make it easy for them, it all had ended with Charles had been forced to knock me out.

When I woke up again, I was chained to a pipe in a dark basement room, even though I still was scared when they came back to lead me to another place, I wouldn't give them the satisfaction of seeing it, so I continued to fight against them. But when they opened the door to another basement room, I just want to fall on my knees and cry my heart out. Seeing Matthew, big strong Matthew chained to the wall, made me almost to collapse. But then came the relief, a relief that I even now didn't understand, but now that Matthew was with me made me believe that we could handle everything these insane people had in sight for us.

I shook my head a little to get back to the present, where I looked at Emily.

"Yes ... If your brother still want me, I would really like to be a part of your pack. This is why I just can't be sitting here as a little frightened woman, who is afraid of her own shadow. I have to be up there and fight on equal terms with the others, what will they not think, that while they risked their lives I was safe and sound tucked away from any danger?"

I exclaimed annoyed, and Emily smiled again before she grabbed my hand and pulled me down beside her on the stairs.

"I'm certain that my brother is still VERY interested, in the two of you as a couple, there is no doubt, so don't worry about it. And as for you being here comfortable and well hidden, it's one thing you have to get used to, as Alpha Female, it will be you who is responsible to care for the women and children while the men are fighting. this has nothing to do with that we women are from the Victorian time, but if the men's mates fought side by side with them, they wouldn't concentrate on anything but protecting their mate, and it would undoubtedly lead to more bloodshed than is the case know where the women are hidden, then their men know they're safe. It's not because we women are afraid, and therefore hide from the danger about a fight. Under the fight we worried about our mate, we know that if he doesn't make it, then we probably don't either, so it's for everyone's best that we stay away and don't give our mates unnecessary worries on our behalf."
