Standing at the summit of Mt. Everest Beth and i were about to begin our duel. "they will be coming after you, you know?" Beth said taking her first swing at me. i swung my head back and she missed her swing. "no? and who's they?" i asked. "angels. demons. any creature working for them." Beth said slashing right at my feet. i jumped back and forgot about us being on such a narrow space, i fell to the ground and started sliding down for a few seconds. i was flat on my back when the tip of a sharp bronze sword was being pointed near my chin. "angels? why them?" i asked. "both sides are preparing for an oncoming war, and you're supposed to give the edge to which ever side you choose." Beth said. "wait? why me? i'm not someone who normally deals with this?" i asked. "well, it's complicated until you get your memories or powers back. speaking of which." Beth said raising her sword preparing to swing it to slice my throat. i got up just before she swung, which she only sliced a line in the snow. i ran up to the summit and back down the other side of the mountain trying to get to a more flat area. "come back here coward! i won't train you if you go down any further!" Beth said swinging her sword around in boredom. i ran back up with a plan now. i ran up and rolled to the side of the summit nearly losing my balance and clashed swords with Beth. "your strength will be your downfall." Beth said as our swords touched and us circling the summit. "what do you mean?" i asked. "you're too weak, watch." Beth said using her sword to throw mine out of control. i spun around and got kicked in the back onto the ground. Beth prepared her sword again, but i somehow managed to lose control of my anger and slashed sideways blocking her attack and leaving us at a temporary stand still. my anger soon grew bigger and i took my sword and made Beth fly back to the other side of the summit and start sliding downwards really fast. i panicked and jumped into the air with my eyes closed. i thought i was going to begin feeling snow and ground any minute, but instead i felt a very cold breeze and the sound of wings flapping. to my surprise i was flying i opened my eyes and saw Beth right in front of me still unable to slow down, instead she was picking up speed. I lowered my self closer to the snow and began seeing a shadow, my shadow. i had wings was flying! i couldn't believe it. i somehow could fly and knew how to. i picked up speed and caught up to the sliding Beth and reached out my arms and pulled her up with all my strength lifting up into the sky. "well, looks like strength won't be much of a problem now." Beth said dangling from my arms. i spotted Beth's cabin and lowered us down to land. once on the ground my wings folded onto my shoulders and i suddenly got an image in my head again. the image showed my black and gray feathers to my wings folded in the same position as they were now, i looked up to see a man in white with pure white feathers all folding his wings. the image stopped and i came back to reality. "well, sword is okay?" Beth said. "how about a bow?" we went down towards the cabin inn where i'd spent the night and used it's backyard as a training ground. "now get your sword and prepare for bow training." Beth said. she did the same weird chant and a yellow light appeared from her separating hands and formed into a bow. "watch me first." Beth said as i pressed the button on my sword and watched as it turned into a bow. "now, first you have to know the essentials-" "i know how to shoot, i just never done it before now." i said. "then you don't know. not with experience anyway." Beth said taking aim. she took sight of a tree 1 mile away from us and released her arrow into the forest. Beth and i checked to see if she hit it, and when i found an arrow stuck in the side of a tree i turned to her with an 'i'm impressed, but don't want to believe it' look. we made our way back to where we had started and now it was my turn. i aimed for a tree in front of me and released my arrow which had appeared out of thin air. the arrow flew by the tree next to it and became lost in the woods. after an hour of over what felt like a hundred tries i began to see improvement with tips Beth was giving me. once Beth thought i was ready we began making our way inside the cabin inn and went into a room full of exercise mats as Beth made a yellow light appear again this time taking the form of a BO staff. "now you'll need to learn combat with this before we can truly bring your powers back." Beth said twirling her BO staff like a baton. i took my bow in my hand and pressed the button twice and watched it change into a BO staff. i twirled my weapon to my hips and began another intense training swinging at Beth. i managed to get her on one knee a few times and then began getting pushed back. once i was corner and pinned to the wall i held my weapon out like i was doing a pull up and blocked her oncoming strike. i pushed Beth back to the other end of the room where i swept her off her feet and pointed my weapon at her. "a weapon is an extension of the soul. if you master more than one you'll most likely become a great warrior." Beth said reverting to her old and decrepit self. i just noticed her clothes were a gray tank-top shirt until she was a granny again, then she was wearing a pink dress and a golden chain necklace. her white frizzy hair started puffing out of nowhere. we made our way back to Wix her had been watching the t.v. for any new news. "i got bad news." Wix said. "what's the bad news?" i asked. "there's been a rumor going around that someone warned the police New York City is going to be crushed." Wix said. "we better head to New York then." i said beginning to head out the door when Beth turned and said "your angel powers have been reawakened, but remember this, you're an unaligned figure in the supernatural world. both sides will come to either recruit you or kill you. now go save New York." Beth said i as headed out the door.
