"That's good J,you can take 5 and we'll record the second verse in a few." Kail,my main producer, said through the mic to one of our newest artists. I sat back in my chair marveling at myself. It's still overwhelming to this day how I've gotten this far in life. From what started out as a small dream from a young girl in the south ended up being the biggest success that anyone from my hometown has ever seen. "So,what you think?" Kail asked,knocking me out of my trance. "It's good so far,I think the chorus might need one more vocal part,it sounds a little empty in the background." I said sitting up looking at the computer screen that he is making minor tweaks to each vocal track on. He said "Alright,I'll get Jay on it,and I'll send you the end result." "It's cool I'll sit through the process." "Nah,you gotta get ready." He said looking at his watch. Before I could ask him why, my bestfriend and business partner walks in knocking on the door "Ready to go Li?" I looked at him in confusion until it clicked in my head. "Oh shit I almost forgot Al. Yeah let's go." I stood up walked out of the soundboard room. Kail shook his head while laughing and turning to tend back to the track. We headed to the black limo awaiting for us at the front of the parking lot. He opened the door for me and once we were settled,we were off heading to Mareux. The hottest club in Atlanta at the moment.  The hottest artists and socialites were supposed to be making an appearance tonight,so we use that platform as,what we like to call, a 'link night' just to get our artists' names known and on collaborations with them. 

I stared at how handsome my bestfriend Alexander East looked in his his business attire. His blonde-tipped dreads all placed neatly in a manbun. His seemingly nonchalant facial expression behind his gold rimmed shades. "What creep?" he asked smirking, snapping me out of my thoughts. I shook my head with a simple "Nothing" as I looked down,embarrassed when I realized that I was staring,which is one of my horrible habits. "You look good,Liya." He noted as he sipped some of the champagne in his glass. "Thanks,you don't look too bad yourself." I smiled. We've known each other for so long.Fifteen years to be exact,we were both music artists chasing bags and looking for come-ups. We both had a little clout,and supporters here and there. That's when we both agreed to start working together. We both probed eachothers' mind and started working more closely together. Making songs,making deals,making moves. We ended up goofing around one night in the studio,playing on tracks,freestyling to beats,finding what could be the next hit song. I suggested that we start our own company as a joke,but he took it absolutely serious because the next day we were looking at buildings to invest in. We built from a single recording studio to the multi media production company that it is today. East X Productions is most definitely one of my biggest accomplishments and biggest goals I've ever reached in life. I couldn't be any happier reaching this goal with anyone else either. Alex has been the best business partner ever. He handles everything without stressing and he keeps me calm whenever I tend to freak out because of a plan gone wrong. 

He snaps me out of my thoughts "You good Li? Don't need you zoning out on me." I smile and say "I'm good. Just thinking." I have ADD so I tend to zone out every now and then. Al always manage to keep me focused,so it's not really a big deal for both of us. We pull up to Mareux,and I do a last minute self check. "You're beautiful Li." He says reassuringly. I smiled back at him. "Alex?"  He looks back at me waiting for whatever I had to ask. "Wanna smoke after?" He smiled "You know I don't smoke Li. Nice try though." He stepped out of the limo and reached for my hand to help me out. We walked in between paparazzi,fans,and semi-VIPs who are usually celeb relatives or Social Media figures. We stepped into Mareux to see a dark room illuminated by only black-lights. So everyone in there wearing white were literally glowing in the dark. We walked around for awhile greeting our friends while making new ones. After a while,Alex and I decided to enjoy the rest of our night and party a while. So I went to dance while he went to get us drinks. While I was dancing,someone pulled me closed from behind to dance with me. I giggled as I thought it was Alex playing around. I turned to see a not Alex,then I looked towards the bar to see he was still ordering the drinks.  I looked back at this guy,who was still looking at me intently while dancing,like he just didnt see any wrong with his bold actions. He was cute,so I let it slide. He was tall,he smelled very nice,and his hair was long and curly. We danced a little longer until Alex found me and handed me my drink. "Hey Li,who's this?" he asked while looking at Mr.Guy. "I have no idea,who are you?" we both looked at him and he laughed. "My apologies,I'm Laithan, Laithan Jones. My bad for being all on your girl man. I didn't like her dancing alone." His smile was so nice,it ended up making me smile without even realizing it. "Nah,we're not together. We're business partners and bestfriends. Im Liya, Liya Kelly. I held out my hand out to shake his hand and he held it to give it a gentle kiss. I blushed at the way he looked at me. "Alexander East." Alex said,breaking me and Laithan's contact. Laithan held his hand out to shake Alex's hand,but Alex wasn't feeling it. Laithan placed his hand back to his side to avoid anymore awkwardness on his part. He looked at me and smiled "I hope to see you soon Ms.Kelly." I smiled back at him,and he left to go to the bar. I looked back at Alex and slapped his shoulder. "Rude much?" He shrugged "I didn't like him." He started towards the door and I followed quickly after. "Where are we going?" I asked trying to keep up with Alex's pace. "The fall" he said with out even looking back. We made it outside of the club and walked towards our limo. He helped me inside and as soon as he was inside we were off to our favorite place. The Waterfalls
