TEMPTATIONS

PROLOGUE

I let out an involuntary sigh as I slowly push open the double granddoors to the ballroom. My breath is slightly taken away when my eyesfully take in the scene in front of me. Couples are dancing on the dancefloor, many are drinking away the night, some are gossiping about thereso called interesting life, and then there's the soft, engaging music.

Sa totoo lang ayoko talaga sa mga ganitong uri ng event. Wala namang kaaya-ayang bagay na nandito maliban nalang sa magagandang dekorasyon sa paligid nito at sa iba't-ibang alak na makikita.

I hate the fact na pinilit ako pumunta sa ganitong event since the only reason kung bakit ako nandirito ay dahil sa mga magulang kong gusto akong ipakilala sa mga mayayaman at mayayabang nilang kaibigan sa business. I can't argue or stand my ground against them or else makakatanggap ako ng parusa sa kanila and it's not like they take my phone or other electronics away, no, ikukulong lang naman nila ako sa kwarto ng ilang araw o bubugbugin nila ako.

Of course that doesn't stop me from doing what I want behind their backs.

I take a sit and grab a glass of wine to gulp it down along with my desires to give them a piece of my fucked up mind. Busy naman ang mga magulang ko sa pakikipag-usap sa mga kaibigan nila kaya nakahanap ako ng pagkakataon para makaalis.

I casually walk down the many hallways of this beautiful ball room. My fingers are lightly trailing down the walls as I make my way towards the kitchen. May nakita akong isang bote ng vodka at di na ko nagdalawang isip na kunin 'yon. Nakangiti lang sakin ang mga nagluluto doon at binigyan pa ko ng isang baso, binigyan ko naman sila ng isang magandang ngiti at nagpasalamat tapos umalis na rin ako. Masyado akong busy sa kung paano ko tatanggalin ang cork ng bote kaya hindi ko napansin ang makakabunggo ko, natapon ang laman ng bote at nadulas pa ito sa kamay ko gawa ng pagkakabasag nito.

"Oh my god," nanlaki ang mga mata ko at tumingala sa napakagwapong lalaki pero nanlilisik ang mga matang nakatingin saakin.

"Figures," he spats out, his evergreen eyes boring holes into my own pale blue eyes. "Watch out the next time girl."

"It was an accident," I narrow my eyes. "I didn't mean to b‐"

"Just get out of my way," he rudely cuts me off. "Girls like you don't belong here."

This seems to fire up my body since the next thing I do is take a step forward and harshly grab him by his collar, na ikinagulat niya. "Listen here bastard," I grit my teeth. "don't know who the fuck you think you are but you better pull your head out of your ass before I personally do."

"This proves my statement even more." ganting sambit niya "You're nothing but an insignificant person who is just here for convinience."

Automatic na nag-react ang kanang kamay ko at malakas ko siyang sinampal, sobrang lakas na halos rinig sa buong hall. His face even moves to the side with the impact, his jaw clenching as he grits his teeth.

"Listen here you ignorant bastard," I spit out. "You can't just go around with an arrogant attitude making absurd assumptions about everyone just because you get your money handed easily and think you're better than everyone when in reality you're nothing but a pretentious asshole."

"You're a hypocrite," sambit niya habang masamang nakatingin sa'kin. "You're telling me I criticize people when you're doing the exact same thing."

"There's a difference between judging people by their appearance which is what you are doing," I fire back. "Then there's the fact that people based a person's personality in how the person acts. It's called being observant, sir." I mock him. Bago pa siya magkaroon ng pagkakataon na makapagsalita laban sa'kin.
