as soon as crystal walked out of her last period - oh, thank god - shawn appeared right in front of her, distraught. a sigh escaped crystal's lips as she tightened her hold on her backpack and looked at the boy in front of her expectantly. "what did my cousin do this time?"
it took both cory and shawn a whole lunch period to make topanga and crystal understand that cory was, in fact, dead meat. having reached a conclusion of cory going to the nurse's office at 3 with eric's help, crystal came out of the cafeteria confident that her cousin would survive that day. but then again, cory was an idiot. and idiots don't follow the bloody plan.
"got here as quick as i could. also, i brought crystal," shawn panted, his hand grasping crystal's. the girl standing behind him rolled her eyes, obviously annoyed that she had to be dragged into the mess on the first day of high school. "now i know why eric wrote that contract. i don't ever want to be known as your cousin after you get juiced by harley."
with a glare directed at crystal by both boys surrounding her, shawn spoke once again with confidence. "i want you to know that whatever happens, i'm right here with you."
"thanks, shawn, but i'm pretty sure this is something i gotta face alone."
"well, i don't know. it just doesn't feel right leaving you here."
"there you are shawn!"
"now it feels right."
crystal scoffed as she watched some girl grabbing shawn from her. flicking her silky hair behind her shoulders, she tightened her hold on shawn's hand, stopping the hunter boy from following the unfamiliar girl. with a venomous smile shot in the direction of the senior, she roughly pulled shawn back towards her, causing the other girl to lose her grip on shawn. without much thought, crystal dragged shawn away from the scene and out of the school, ignoring the annoying calls of the girl from before. with a slam, shawn was inside eric's car, crystal fuming beside him. with that, shawn noticed two things. firstly, eric was nowhere to be seen in his car. secondly, crystal was mad. and shawn didn't even know why.

"eric saved you?" crystal asked for the millionth time, disbelief still present in her voice. with her arms crossed and her feet sprawled on topanga's legs, crystal looked like she was almost mad that harley didn't beat the living crap out of her cousin. but then again, eric - the guy who, for gods sake, made cory sign a contract - prevented it.
"wait, we're talking about the eric matthews, right? the same eric who takes every opportunity he can get to leave a bruise on you every single day? that eric?" crystal questioned, sitting up. cory nodded yes, growing bored of his cousin's incessant questioning.
"this day just keeps getting weirder and weirder," crystal mused, lying back down, failing to see that shawn had planted his ass on the sofa behind her. eyes wide, crystal looked up to see shawn's face staring right back at her.
"hi," he greeted, an amused smile plastered on his face.
"hi," crystal grinned back before closing her eyes. somewhat, shawn's lap was so much more comfortable than the sofa's plush cushions.
