Emily
Sat here in the nurse's office I began to look back on the day's events - Not that I really wanted to remember what had happened.
That girl... Martha. I don't know what I could possibly have done to make her do all these horrible things to me. I had forced myself into thinking that when she kicked me in the ankle during the first match I'd played against her, it had all been an accident. I was definitely beginning to think otherwise.
The problem was, she was everything that I'm not. She's gorgeous and amazing at football. From what I can tell, she's really popular and has loads of friends that will stick by her through everything - I have no doubts about that. Most of all, she has the self confidence that I will never have but always long for. Despite longing for her looks and confidence, I knew that beneath her perfect outside, she wasn't all that perfect inside.
My thought track was disturbed as I watched the door handle open and the school nurse walk in. She came over to where I was sat on the medical bed.
Even though I had a terrible throbbing pain in my leg, I hadn't really paid much attention to the large gash that stretched from my knee, right down my shin stopping just before my ankle. When Martha pushed me, I'd fallen backwards and, twisting in mid air, My leg had scraped against a sharp-pointed bollard that was there to stop cars driving through the student gates. Wrong place and certainly the wrong time I had to admit.
The nurse made light work of putting a large dressing over the gash. Despite my best efforts to disguise the pain, I gave in to letting the tears roll down my cheeks once again. The nurse had warned that it was going to sting a little and she gave me a sympathetic smile as she told me she would be back in a minute.
The worst part wasn't the pain though: It was the fact that Martha had seen me cry. Now she knew that she had gotten to me. That she had hurt me. And something told me that this was the first of many that she would try to hurt me either physically or emotionally, or both.
The nurse returned quicker than I had expected followed by Brooklyn. He had a concerned look spread wide across his face and I couldn't help but let out a little giggle.
"Don't you go laughing at me Missy, I was so worried about you!" He remarked.
"It's okay, It's just a cut" I replied.
"I think it's a little more than a cut my dear" Said the nurse, chipping into my conversation with Brooklyn who was nodding in agreement to the Nurse's statement.
"I'm going to give you this pack of supplies so that you can change the dressing every night to avoid infection" The nurse said as she handed over a plastic box full of plasters, cotton wool, dressing fabric and tape. She left swiftly after leaving Brooklyn and I alone in the room.
"Come on then, lets get you out of this place - It's too sterile for my liking" Brooklyn grinned.
"Me too" I agreed.
With that, Brooklyn hoisted me up into his arms and charged out of the door, out into the school grounds and to the car park where David was waiting with their black range rover. As we got closer, David got out the car and opened up the door so that Brooklyn could carry me right up into the car before putting me down onto the seat next to him. I knew that I should have had butterflies in my stomach because Brooklyn had literally just carried me a good few hundred metres and because I had felt so safe in his arms but I think it was mostly because I had just gotten into a car with David Beckham! So many of my friends, all of us being footballers, would have only dreamt of just meeting any member of the Beckham family but here I was, sitting in their car whilst holding Brooklyn's hand.
Despite all that had happened, I was really starting to think that I was the luckiest girl alive.

Although I'm trying not to add in too many notes, I just wanted to say a massive HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Brooklyn today :) I'm incredibly jealous of him having a birthday on pancake day, I must admit.
Please do feel free to message me or comment on any of the parts as to how I can improve the story as I'm never really sure if it's that good or not :P
Hope you're enjoying the story so far - Emma
