CHAPTER ONE

To be your friend was all I ever wanted, to be your lover was all I ever dreamed.

-Unknown

**FLASHBACK**

He came to me. Overwhelmed and desperate was I the key or was I the answer? In a single second, he spilled and told me everything.

I could be his best friend or am I his close friend already?

Whenever there was a bother, there he was spilling his guts, and there was I.

I mean I wouldn't know much, but I did already... I love this guy, and he probably didn't even know it.

So, there he was and my heart was racing as I walked into the living room towards him. I was holding back every impulse inside of me so I wouldn't trip forward as if I could bear a humiliating fall in front of him.

From that moment on I knew it wouldn't be the same.

***END OF FLASHBACK***

''Uh yeah it's over there'' she said as he walked in the living room.

He mumbled something under his breath and very quietly said 'thanks' as he grabbed his wallet from the cabinet near the entranceway of the living room.

''Hey, bae" very sweetly she asked, "what's wrong?"

He turned around saying ''nothing."

Unconvinced she let it go for now. She didn't want to push him.

So, she flicked the television on and continued on with her business.

Moments later, she heard him unlock the front door. "Babe?'' She called out, but she was already too late.

He had already locked the front door.

She got up and went to the front window and saw him rush quickly out of the driveway in their sweet, clean black range rover.

It was the SUV they shared together.

''Damn'' she muttered ''what is wrong with him this week?''

She strolled back to the couch in a sulky mood.

She retrieved the remote and turned the television off and handled her things.

Her things were her magazine, a notepad, a ballpoint blue pen, white headphones with green earbuds and even her phone as she walked slowly up the stairs.

She began thinking deeply about how she tried earlier this week to figure out, what was wrong with him, But he brushed her off.

'I think I gave him enough time' she whispered to herself as she reached up to their bedroom.

She put her things away by tossing the magazine on the bed stand on her side of the bed along with the ballpoint blue pen on top of it.

While swiftly placing her phone beside it in charge tossing her headphones in the first drawer.

After doing that she took a deep breath and quietly looked around their bedroom and seeing the mess he left behind.

She began closing the drawers that he left open.

She walked in the closet, slowly and swiftly she finished fixing the mess he left behind arranging everything back in order.

When she finished, she began taking off her clothes.

She heard the car engine stop and moments later a beep from their car.

She could hear the keys jingling as he struggled with unlocking the front door.
