Chapter Two

IMMORTAL

"Walking through the the forest at midnight probably isn't my wisest decision, but I have to find it." I'm not sure who I'm talking to, I'm just talking.

Maybe my parents recent death has something to do with this. I now have no one to talk to. I have been stranded in the forest for months, with only my survival skills, and my knowledge of this forest keeping me alive.

I lost one of my arrows yesterday so I have to go find it. This has been happening a lot lately.

I know that my parents told me that I have special powers that they would show me how to use once I got to a mature age where I wouldn't abuse them. They promised that on my fifteenth birthday, that they would show me. They never got the chance, before they were killed, each by poison.

Snake venom. The morning of my fifteenth birthday. I couldn't forget waking up to find two snakes in my parents bed, and two parents dead, with a written note.

"We have been bitten by poisonous snakes. We will be dead soon. We love you and will miss you very mu..."

They never got the chance to finish the note, but I kept it.

I never got to say goodbye to my parents, and I haven't seen civilization since two days before my birthday.

Nothing exciting has happened since that day. Nothing but me hunting, and grieving over my parents.

Now I am in a very overgrown part of the forest. I hope that I will find the arrow soon.

I need to get back to my little sister who is at the cabin alone right now, and she isn't safe. Especially with the bombings going on.

She is only seven, and her name is Dililah.

Almost every day Dililah asks me why I'm not in the war, because everyone over the age of thirteen should be. I'm fifteen, so I rightfully should be in war.

I even know some one to take care of my sister, her name is Ariana. She loves my sister and me, like she is my sister. I know that she's not, but I wish she was.

She's goth, but I'm ok with that. It's not like she is mean or cold hearted. she likes a lot of things. I acctually found out that she likes me a little bit more than as a friend.

My sister doesn't know that yet though, and I'm not sure how she would react if she did know, because she reacts very sensitively to any situation.

I'm thinking about asking Ariana to be mine, but I don't want my sister to be upset with me.
