I woke up in a bed covered in white sheets. The sun shining through the windows of the room.
"Shes awake," I heard someone say.
"Where am I?" I questioned as I sat up.
"You're in a hospital, dear." A nurse answered.
"How did I get here?" I asked.
The nurse walked up to me and pointed to a boy, about my age sitting in a chair.
"He saved your life."
The nurse left after she said that.
I looked over at the boy, he had dirty blond hair and piercing grey eyes.
He looked so familiar, I felt like I had seen him before, but where?
Who was he?
"Hey, thanks for saving me." I said.
He looked up at me.
"No problem." he smiled.
I smiled back. "What's your name?"
"Leo," he responded.
"I'm Abby, although you probably already know that."
"Yeah, I go to your school."
"Oh."
"Yeah,"
"I would've noticed you but with all this bullying I don't really know how to trust people anymore."
"It's ok, I'm not really a noticeable person anyways."
"So... what happened to me and how did you find me?"
"Well I was looking out my window, and I saw you walking home with those people behind you. And they looked like they were bothering you so I kept watching so nothing bad happened. When something did, I came out to get you, I didn't want to leave you there, injured on the sidewalk."
"Oh, but what did they do to me?" I questioned, knowing exactly who 'they' were.
"Well one guy took his bag and hit you in the back of the head, I'm not really sure what was in there but it knocked you out pretty bad."
"Oh. How long have I been here?"
"One night so far."
"Okay, thanks."
He smiled and I started to look around.
I noticed my bag sitting on a chair beside me.
I looked back at Leo.
"So why did you stay all this time with me?"
"To make sure you were okay."
"You didn't have to stay the whole night."
"I know, but I wanted to."
I smiled at his answer just as the hospital room doors opened and in came my mom.
"Oh my goodness sweetie are you okay?" She asked and came up to me and hugged me.
"Just got a bit of a headache but I would've still been lying on the sidewalk if it wasn't for Leo," I smiled and looked at him.
After I said that my mom went up to Leo and hugged him as well.
"Oh thank you so much for saving my baby!"
"Mom, please..."
"You're welcome," Leo said as he awkwardly hugged my mom back.
My mom pulled away from the hug after a while and looked at me. "So when can you leave the hospital?"
I shrugged as the nurse walked in. "Ask."
My mom walked up to the nurse and started to talk to her.
I heard my mom ask how long I was going to have to stay here but I couldn't make out what the nurse was saying.
After a while my mom walked back over to me.
"What happened mom? When can I leave?"
"Well the nurse said you can leave today but they still want to run a few tests on you." She smiled.
I smiled back. "Great."

After the next few hours past, the doctors finished the last test on me and then they said I could go home.
I picked up my bag from the chair back in the room I was in and thanked the nurse on my way out.
My mom and Leo were following behind me as we got outside.
"So you need a ride home?" I asked Leo.
"No I drove here,"
"Oh, right." I said face palming myself.
He chuckled. "Well see you at school, I guess,"
"Sure thing and thanks again, for everything."
"You're welcome," he replied.
I smiled.
"Well I better be going now," he said.
"Okay see you tomorrow at school."
"See you tomorrow." he said walking towards his car.
"Bye," I waved as I walked to my moms car where she was waiting inside, warming up the car.
I opened the passenger door and sat in the seat noticing that my mom had put a seat warmer on for me.
"Thanks mom," I smiled at her.
"Anything for my little girl," my mom replied, starting to drive home.
I smiled at her as I turned on the radio.
My mom smiled realizing what song it was and turned up the volume. The song was Holiday by Green day.
I danced along to the song and my mom looked at me weirdly and then danced at all the red lights with me.
As the song ended we stopped dancing and laughed at our stupidness.
Then the song changed and Self Esteem by the offspring came on as my mom drive up the driveway.
"Aww!" I said as my mom turned off the car.
"Don't you have that song on your ipod?" My mom asked.
"Oh yeah," I chuckled scratching the back of my head.
My mom laughed and got out of the car and I got out after her.
We went in the house and took off our coats and boots.
"Man it's cold out there," I said
"Yeah, want me to make you some hot chocolate?" My mom asked.
"Sure."
My mom nodded and walked away as I went to go sit on the couch and wrap myself in a blanket.
A few minutes later she came back with some hot chocolate for the both of us.
"Thanks mom." I smiled.
She smiled back "You're very welcome."
For the next hour or so we sat together on the couch watching stupid reality shows and laughing at the people on them.
I just couldn't be more thankful.
