The job of death is to carry souls between the worlds, to deem them worthy of heaven or hell. Every soul has a limit. They could only be reincarnated three times to be deem worthy of their placement in Heaven or in Hell However there are times where one cursed soul can bypass the system... the nine-lives soul. As the name suggests, the one with the soul of nine-lives(a cat soul basically) can have nine reincarnations but becauae of this, the soul cannot be placed in Heaven or in Hell. So once the ninth life is up,the soul is shattered into three by death himself.
But these shattered souls bring harm to death. "Death doesnt help anybody so why? Why do i feel pain at the sight of the broken ones? Why do i feel sad at the thought of these cursed ones that are only meant to suffer? Oh well i got a job to do, even though it hurts me, i must do this..."
