“Wake up!”
Frank twitched slightly, rolling on his side. Someone was banging on his bed room door, trying to wake him up. He shut his eyes tighter, savoring the last moments of sleep before he had to get up and go to that hell hole. He opened his eyes slightly, but quickly shut them again. The sunlight streaming in from his bedroom window was blindingly bright even though it was only six.
“Frankie, get up!” His aunt yelled again through the door. She banged on it again.
“I’m up!” He yelled back, wincing as he sat up and stretched. He wiped the sleep from his eyes, looking around at his cluttered room. There were random piles of black clothing littering the floor along with papers and cans. Cleaning wasn’t his thing and it drove his aunt absolutely nuts.
He swung his legs over the side of the bed, getting up.
It was six in the morning and school started at seven. Well, school actually started at seven forty-five, but mass was every Monday morning. He absolutely despised mass. In mass, you had to sit on hard pews for forty-five minutes and listen to the priest give a boring lecture. Frank actually remembered falling asleep at least three times within the two years he had been going there. He went to St. Peter’s, a very strict Catholic school. Ever since his parents had gotten divorced two years ago, he ended up having to move across the country to his aunt and uncle’s. He hated it there. They were so strict and he barely had any freedom. The farthest away he had ever gotten from home, was either school or church. He missed home, but he didn’t have a home back in New Jersey anymore. His dad was currently in jail for attempted murder and his mom was somewhere in Florida doing god knows what, probably staying as far away from New Jersey as possible.
He quietly opened the door and slunk down the hall and into the bathroom. He flipped the light on, looking into the mirror and frowning. His hair was standing up in every direction and he had a drool stain on his shirt. He shook his head before turning away from the mirror and shedding his night clothes. He stared down at his pale body with disgust plainly written on his face. He had very low self-esteem. He never thought he was good enough for anyone or anything. He had only had one girlfriend and she lived back in New Jersey. She probably had forgotten him by now and moved on. She probably had a new boyfriend who was better than him at everything.
Frank stepped into the shower, closing the curtain and turning the hot water on. He shut his eyes as the water flowed over him. It felt so good on his skin. He sighed, leaning against the side of the shower. He loved being in the shower. Besides feeling good, it’s where he could think. He loved just shutting his eyes and thinking long and hard about his life. It may sound silly, but it helped him. He tried to block out all of the bad thoughts of his mom and dad fighting and think of the good stuff. Like the time his dad had bought him his first guitar or when he had his first kiss. He smiled stupidly at his memories of being with Kasey. That was her name. They weren’t together for a long time, but the time they were together had been amazing. She was his first everything. Images of converse shoes, the football field and a bottle of Jack flitted before his eyes as he remembered their first time, his first time. He shut his eyes tighter as he slid his hand down, grasping his hard member. This was sort of a ritual for him. He would jerk off in the shower before school in the mornings to help relieve stress. It just made his day a little bit easier to deal with. Although he felt pathetic afterwards, he didn’t care. He was happy right then, until he was pulled from his fantasy of Kasey and thrown back into reality, a bitter reality at that.
“Hurry up! You’re going to miss the bus!” His aunt’s voice rang through the door. He quickly finished, stepping out of the shower and putting on that dreadful uniform. He hated it. It was blue and boring. He missed his old high school back in New Jersey. They could wear whatever they wanted there.
