AUTHORS NOTE: Hey guys this chapter has a bit of violence so if you can't handle that, don't read!
The alarm is ear-piercing and although i know what it means I feel the need for confirmation. "What does that mean?" I ask Blair. "Nothing good. Willa we need to get you to the gym immediately. It's the closest place with deadlock doors that can't be opened using powers" Blair says standing up. I stand up and nod. "Walk behind me okay, we don't know why that's going off or what's out there. Be ready to use those new powers," She instructs. I nod again and Blair slowly opens the door.
The hallway is pitch black. We walk out slowly and I slip over in a pool of sticky liquid. The metallic smell lets me know I'm covered in blood. "We need to hurry Blair," I say, shaking as I show her my bloody state. Blair walks forward confidently. We don't run into anyone or anymore blood pools and soon the gym is in sight.
"Little Miss Grey, it has been a while," says a deep voice.
Blair stops in her tracks.
A figure appears from next to the gym out of no-where. "Nathan what are you doing here?" Blair says pushing me behind her. "Just come to see if the rumours are true. Is this the little sorceress?" He asks playfully trying to look behind Blair at me. "You're not welcome here anymore Nathan. Leave before I make you," Blair says puffing up defensively. Nathan scoffs at that. "Nice try Grey. Really scary! Too bad I'm not scared of you," He grunts. All of a sudden Blair is hanging in mid-air, frozen. Her face contorts in pain.
"What the hell are you doing to her?" I shout. "Don't worry little sorceress, I'm not hurting her I'm just stopping her from interrupting us" He says smiling creepily. At first I freeze but then I remember that I'm powerful. Maybe I can take him. I use my telekinesis on him but he barely moves backwards before he realises what I'm trying to do and steels himself against my push. "Nice try kid" He snorts. All of a sudden I'm pushed against a wall and I see stars for a few seconds.
I open my eyes and see Nathan walking towards me. I get up and run as fast as I can towards the gym while he isn't guarding it but the doors are locked. "Speedy. That's always a useful one, fairly common though. Are you sure you're a sorceress?" He asks as he appears behind me. He punches me hard in the stomach and I double over, falling to the ground. He kicks me with dirty bare feet while I'm down and I feel my eyes burn. "I definitely think they got it wrong. A purple-eyed mutant, but no sorceress" he says leaning down to look at me.
He touches my arm and yelps in pain. "What the-" He's cut off as Blair hits him over the back of the head and he falls to the ground next to me. "Willa? Sh*t. It's okay I'll take you to the nurse" Blair says looking at me in despair. She tries to pick me up but has the same reaction as Nathan pulling away quickly. "You're burning hot. What a f*cking time to work out your origins Willa" Blair says shaking her head with a small smile. I try to get up myself and Blair supports me as best she can without burning herself against me. Two people run towards us in dark uniforms.
"Here he is you idiots. Next time you decide to let Nathan Marx in here, remember that last time he was here he killed 20 people!" Blair says angrily. "We didn't let him in, he must've had a key or someone else let him in" one man insists. Blair goes from angry to worried very quickly. "Just take him now before he wakes up again. I need to get Miss Starr to Jacquie's office right away", As Blair says that I cough up blood and start shaking. "Right now. Can one of you help me?" Blair says sounding stressed. I close my eyes as two of them drag me along. "Ow! Why's she so hot? Did he burn her?" The guard yelps. "No I think the pain just made her origins reveal themselves as a defence mechanism" Blair responds.
"Blair how did you hit him? You were up in the air," I croak spitting out more blood. "Don't talk Willa, don't injure yourself further we're almost there just stay awake" Blair instructs. I nod feebly. I try to keep my eyes open but they start feeling heavy and the pain in my stomach from where Nathan kicked and punched me is unbearable. Easier to just sleep it away.
"Willa! Stay with me!" A loud voice yells. I open my eyes and I'm on the weird horror movie chair from my first night. Henry and Blair are both there trying to keep me awake. "Jacquie thank God. Can you heal her? Is she going to be alright?" Henry asks worriedly. The grey-haired woman nods and puts her hands lightly on my stomach. The pain has gone from unbearable to worse. Like a white-hot piece of iron is scraping my insides.
I scream as Jacquie fixes my body and feel like my stomach is burning away. "I've never seen that before" Jacquie says stopping briefly. Henry and Blair are both looking at me in shock and amazement. "What is it?" I whisper. I turn over slightly to view myself in the mirror and I don't see myself.
My eyes are bright purple, my hair is dark and sleek and my skin has gone from freckly to spotless and snow white. Suddenly the pain starts again in my head and this time I can't take it anymore.
I close my eyes and fade to sleep.
