Ch. 1

“No, please. You don’t have to do this. We can work something out.” I said.

“It’s too late boy. I already did it, now it your turn.”

“You know you don’t have to do this right? We can walk out of here like nothing ever happened.” I said.

“I’m sorry I can’t trust anybody. I always get stab in my back every second.” then he pulled the trigger.

“Get up! Get up! We need to get going. Pack up what you need now. You only got thirty minutes to do so now!” my dad yelling and shaking me awake. I yelled and fell off my bed.

“What was that for?” I asked my dad as I was getting up.

“Go upstairs and wake up your sister and tell her to get packing what we can!”

“Dad what’s going on?” I look at my dad with question look on my face.

“I’ll explain it all later. Just go get your sister now!” I gave up and went upstairs to wake up my sister.

“How many times should I tell you? Stay out of my room!” my sister yelled at me. Threw pillow at me.

“Alex, dad said to get packing what we can and get ready. We only got thirty minutes.” I told her.

“Don’t you think about lying to me?" She gave me a dirty looks "I know dad is at his mourning shift.”

Then we heard a running step going up the stairs. Dad came upstairs to Alex’s room. I moved out of his way. “Alex, get packing now we only got thirty minutes. Pack up what we can take and easy to carry.”

“What’s going on dad? Are you supposed to be at work?” Alex ask dad.

“I’ll explain everything later. Right now is not a good time.” Dad said. Then dad left and ran back downstairs. I turned around and saw Alex giving me dirty looks. She always giving me a dirty looks whenever she think everything is my fault.

“Well are you going to leave my room? I need to change my clothes and get packing.” Alex said.

“Okay, than.” I left my sister room and went downstairs to my room. As I was walking pass my dad room and saw that he was packing up his gun bag. I don’t know what going on but I know it’s not good. I ran to my room and then started packing. My phone went off and I looked around and found my phone and it was my girlfriend Mary calling me. I couldn't believe she would call me during time like this, but I wanted to know if she is alright so I answer the phone.

“Are you okay? My mom and dad are making me pack up my things. Do you know what’s going on?” she asked.

“You don’t know either? Julie, I think we might be in middle of a nuclear war or something. I saw my dad packing up his gun bag.” I said. Picking up clothes and putting them in suitcase.

“Well I got to get going. I got to pack up my stuff.”

                “Okay, bye sweetheart.”

“Bye, honey bun.” Then I hung up. Last thing went through my mind was. Will I ever see her again?

“Jack, we need to get packing now. Go to kitchen and start helping me pack up foods. Take anything in cans and bottles.” Dad said.
