The mission was simple, get a message out to earth about the intergalactic war going on and come back. Of course when the mission was announced, everybody jumped at the chance to visit their home planet again, so it was decided that the entire team would go and help earth prepare for their part in the war. It was a hard thing to do, throwing their loved ones into a raging battle, but it was worth seeing their families again. Everyone was happy and satisfied.
But something changed. Something that would change to course of one of the paladins life.
Allura had called them to the control room to tell then the bad news.
The team huddled around her, curious for what she had to say.
"Paladins, I'm afraid I have some bad news " Allura spoke, fidgeting with her hands and biting her lips. "There has been a change of plans regarding our mission to Earth." As soon as the words came out of her mouth, everyone tensed. Shiro bounced his leg, Pidge kept on readjusting her glasses, Keith fiddled with the collar of his jacket, Hunk had gotten closer to Lance, putting a hand on his shoulder, and Lance, Lance was frozen, eyes wide and terrified.
