So I've had lessons before this one, but this will be the first one I record.
I had a lesson today (duh) and I rode Bebe for the first time. Perfect was lame and needed the weekend off, so Katrina put me on Beebs. SHE'S SO LITTLE COMPARED TO PERFECT!
Bebe (14.2) felt like half of Perfect's (15.3) height and it was really weird.
Bebe's also really lazy and slow and I had to use a crop, which I hated.
It was pouring rain when I got to the barn, and of course Beebs was out in the field instead of in her cozy warm dry stall, and she had rolled in the mud directly before I got her out.
So grooming took like 45 minutes, partially because she would NOT let me pick her right front.
But after we got tacked up and such, we went to the back of the arena because people were schooling in the front. Another girl (I don't know her name I feel bad now) came in on her horse Shy, who was a victim of neglect and abuse. She's still pretty green.
But yeah, Bebe was slow and small and I was in pain after 10 minutes because I'd been hiking and biking and roller skating with Mal all day. I had to keep losing my stirrups and rolling my ankles so they wouldn't go numb with pain.
Since I was already so sore and tired, we worked on walk-trot transitions and other groundwork instead of advancing a bit.
Afterward, I hosed Bebe off and threw her in the field with Mystic. My mom almost puked because one of the stablehands was going around spraying fly spray all over the place and I just kinda laughed cause it smelled really good (at least to me, but I'm crazy so).
That's all I got for you today, I'll probably update when I have my next lesson (this Wednesday I think). I'm actually about to fall asleep so kay byeeee
