Welcome to my latest novel, La Notte Senza Grazia, or The Night Without Grace for those who cannot understand Italian, which is probably a majority of my readers.
The idea for this novel not only came from my interest in the culture and ambience of Italy, but also to stray away from Japanese stories and novels for once. I know more about Japan than I care to admit, so I thought it would be an interesting challenge to try learning and researching Italy, a worthwhile subject that would be spurred on by my writing.
The second reason was so I could start playing with the idea of a character more outside my comfort zone. I am hoping to make Chiaro Valentini into a more relatable and visually unique character. Not only that, but to give the setting and story an atmosphere that truly captures what I am trying to present.
Even so, if you enjoy the themes that my previous novels have presented, I have a feeling many of them will surface again here, be it now or much later, so please stay tuned and give this a chance.
Buona lettura a tutti voi.
(Good reading to all of you)
