She gaped at the two. Beau was kissing her hard. Yasmin noted-through her haze of jealousy- that Cider looked a little uncomfortable. Beau was gripping her body with one hand and using the other to tip her head up, giving him more access. The redhead, however, seemed to make a space between their bodies, and her eyes kept fluttering open and closed. Beau looked like he enjoyed it, running his hands through her red hair, tangling them in it, parting their lips only for breath.
"They're together?" she asked Heathen, who was rolling his eyes.
"He uses a lot of the girls but he always comes back to Cinder."
It was then that Yasmin noticed many woman were glaring angrily at Cinder while their men were glaring at their women who were glaring at Cinder.
"We need to get them to Drah, Beau." Cinder gasped out.
Beau pulled away and winked, running his hands down her body. "Later beautiful."
Cinder grinned at him then beckoned Heathen.
Heathen let go of Yasmin. "What the-" she screamed then was caught by the safe, warm arms again in a bridal style position. "Sorry. You were getting heavy."
She punched him lightly on the arm and they followed Cinder. The corridor seemed to expand, lights dead now, pitch-black, and the floor feeling more silky and furry. There was a clicking sound and the redhead now held a lantern. They shone light on double doors in blue velvet, gold knobs and a keypad. Cinder typed something so fast Yasmin couldn't catch it and turned a knob. "Jump." she said calmly and did just that.
Heathen and Beau followed and Yasmin looked down, confused, then saw spikes gleam with something that made her stomach drop. Poison. There was another keypad in the right corner and Cinder quickly typed something. She scanned something while Heathen and Beau took out similar cards and swiped it. "Fingerprint please."
Heathen cocked his head and eased her down. Yasmin pressed a finger to the device and it went green. "This way," Cinder walked off.
They went into another set of double doors before scanning their fingerprints again.
Heathen looked at her. "Hold me."
"What?" she said but clutched onto him, so close she could smell his forest scent.
And it was like the world had went upside down. The air was rippling, and green lines filled the air. They were upright, but the room wasn't. It was like what she imagined space would be like, floating in the air, though she could see ground above their heads. It was disorienting. No wonder Heathen had asked her to hold on. Cinder and Beau navigated the maze expertly and when Heathen brushed a green line because he was still holding Yasmin, that sleeve caught afire. He slipped out what looked like a spray can and a strange liquid went out, dousing the flame. Then Yasmin realized what the green lines were. Lasers.
Heathen pulled her through, twisting and curling up his body at times, or jerking one way more than the other. Yasmin just copied him until they reached the end of the web of lasers and the world violently uprighted itself. She felt quiet dizzy for a moment and the urge to throw up was getting stronger by the moment. After a while the sensation passed and Cinder nodded towards a door dressed in red velvet.
The boys slung arms on either side of her and Beau typed something in to the keypad on the door-why the heck were things so complicated- and the door opened by itself.
"Welcome, kings and Yasmin." Came a rich, dark voice oozing with a sound that made chills run down her spine and goosebumps race up her skin.
The twins dropped to their knees and Yasmin copied.
