The morning was dark an dreary, thunder and lightning decorating the world around him as he ran to his car. He knew it would rain today, yet he still decided to go out with his closest and probably only friend.
The two men got into the car, each slamming their doors at the same time.
"Well that happened.." the smaller one started. "I figured it would rain, but not this early. Is your camera okay?" his hazel gems looked over the man in the drivers seat, as he turned on the engine and started to back out.
"I was thinking we could go get something to eat then possibly head back to the hotel, I mean. If you're up to it that is." The larger one spoke back, as if their conversation had become an autopilot thing.
"That's fine, Tim. You're picking though."
They didn't really say anything else, at least not until they got into town, then Jay finally piped up again. "So, do you actually think we can stop Alex?" his insecurities started to bubble over into his voice.
Tim's deep brown eyes looked at the person he had been protecting, for what seemed like years now, reached his hand over the console and clasped tightly around Jay's. "I've told you before that we're safe for now. As long as we don't post anything and keep quiet. You're safe with me."
Those words echoed through the shorter man's head through out the day."you're safe with me."
Later that night, as the two lay in their beds, the storm still beat heavily on the windows and thunder still continued to tear through the sky.
"Tim?" Jay spoke up a bit, his voice lightly sending an air of desperation.
"What is it, jaybird?" Tim's raspy voice answered back.
"I can't sleep."
The bed squeaked as the large silhouette joined the fragile one in his bed. His strong arms wrapped warmly around Jay's waist, hugging up to him.
"I'm here now, go to sleep okay?" Tim spoke up once more.
"You're safe with me."
