4 - Realistic Nightmare

"Please put it down. 4 people almost killed me today"
I said standing beside the mattress.
I couldn't scan well since it is pass midnight. All the lights were out. But the lamppost that stood still in front of her house. Without it. I couldn't see at all.

"We can discuss this.... I promise I can justify why I have black all over me. I just ran into trouble and need your cooperation. I won't harm you.
I swear!"
I held out my hands up to her. Wishing she'll see I am not here to cripple her.

She purposely cracked her neck and whispered
"harm....me....hahaha.... you got it all twisted," she said as her voice appeared as if it was glitching.

"Costia. Please" I begged.

The loving costia i knew is not full of love anymore.
The caring costia i knew doesnt care anymore.
The costia who had my back anytime didnt have my back this time.

"Costia. Please you cant be like them"
I began walking backwards trying to speak the words i choked on. Costia tilted her head and began walking faster towards me.

"Lexaaaa!" a voice awakened me, shaking my shoulders. I jolted up breathing heavy.

felt like i was deep under water. at the bottom of the sea where no one is there to save me. I was drowning. and that's when I heard her voice.

"hey... its okay," she said as I catch my breath. sitting up with my hands pressing hard against the bed sheets. afraid if I don't hold myself up... id go back to that feeling of drowning. feeling helpless. feeling lost and broken.

"your okay" she added. my eyes rapidly sealed and open. and I glanced towards the sound of the voice and I find... Clarke. glancing to see who was around, where I was at, what I need to do to stay safe.

"what were you dreaming about?" she asked politely not wanting to frighten me. and she massaged my back the same way she did last night when I got here. my breathing became firm and my eyesight became transparent as glass.

"umm... it was nothing" I lied. I then bypassed her eyes because she might try scanning my dreams on her own. I'm almost convinced she can. I mean she is capable to take my fears. show me her pass and see some of the mines.

"how do you the name of Costia?" she got up to walk to the nearby counter and grabbed a water bottle.

"I don't know" I lied again, still not making eye contact

"I don't need any special abilities to tell if a person is lying lexa" she explained giving me the water bottle. I looked up to see her face. and she has an irritated expression

"I just don't wanna talk about it. okay?"

"Okay... next time just say you don't wanna talk about it. you didn't have to lie" she said walking towards the door. she must have heard me screaming in my sleep.

"and be ready in an hour. we'll have your blood tested by our flamekeeper" she added before fully walking out of the doorway.
