Temptations (Edward Cullen love story)

Chapter 11

"They all seemed quite nice and eager to meet me. What did you say to them about me?" I questioned Edward as he led me upstairs.
     "Is that your first question?" Edward hinted at as he cracked a smile. I smiled back and nodded my head.
    "I only told them the truth Gabby".
    "Which was?"
He sighed. "Why do you care so much what I told them? I would never say anything bad about you because there is nothing bad to say about you Gabby". Edward stated. I sighed and wrapped my arms around me.
    "I just-never mind. It's not important anymore..." my voice trailed off as we passed by a huge photo frame filled with graduation capes all of different colors. I raised an eyebrow at Edward and he uttered a laugh.
    "Seriously? Graduation capes?"
    "Alice thought it would be a great idea to remember all of our high school memories. Good and bad". Edward explained as we reached the top of the second floor. He grabbed my hand and pulled me out onto the balcony.
    "This is amazing. You can see so much of the woods from up here". I exclaimed as I smiled. Edward smiled too and put his hand near mine making me blush ever so slightly. I didn't know if I loved Edward or not...but I did know that I kind of liked him and after all the kind things he had done for me how couldn't I?! Edward had been so kind to me even after he opened himself up to me and told me what he was. He kept saying that he was a monster for what he was, but I explained to him that he wasn't. He saved lives by drinking animal blood vs. human blood and I knew deep down he knew that, he just feel right about it.
    "Gabby can I ask you something?" Edward asked inching closer to me. I tensed up a bit at his sudden movements but nodded my head.
   "What is it?"
   How do you feel about me?" He asked. I raised an eyebrow at him. Why was he asking me about this now after I just thought about my feelings for him?...was he reading my mind or something or...
   "Can...can vampires read minds?" I asked him flat out even before I could answer his question.
   "Some can yes".
   "Can you?"
He sighed. "It is my gift yes". I nodded my head at him. "And you were just reading my mind now correct?" He nodded his head as I let out a groan.
    "Great". I huffed, "I must look like some petty stupid girl to you who has feelings for someone else ex when they still care about their ex". I crossed my arms over my chest and glanced out at the woods below us. Damn. If I had known that Edward could read minds I would have never agreed to come over. He's probably been reading my mind the whole time I've known him. Damn he's probably reading my mind now.
    "Gabby I don't think your stupid or petty". Edward stated trying to cheer me up.
    "Well you should". I said. "I've only known you for what two months and I've already fallen for you. Oh and let's not forget you broke up with Bella almost a month ago. It takes time, lots of it to get over someone that you love with your whole heart and I-"
Edward pulled me into his arms and I lost all consciousness of what I was saying. He wrapped his arms around my back and I felt comfort from him which seemed odd since I knew he didn't have feelings for me...or did he?
    "Gabby I could never think of you as petty or stupid because you are none of those things. You are so much more. And yes I do still care for Bella, but she's not the girl for me. She never was". Edward stated firm. When he mentioned that Bella wasn't the one for him and that he knew it all along I raised an eyebrow at that.
    "What do you mean? Can you tell the future too?" I asked sarcastically.
Edward smiled. "I can't, but Alice can. That's her gift. She can see what is going to happen and if that person chooses that path or a different one". Edward replied.
    "So does that mean that she say Bella...cheating on you?"
Edward sighed. I knew bringing her back up was a touchy subject for him, but I was curious. And he did say that he would answer all my questions.
    "No. At least not at first. Bella didn't make her decision until the last possible moment and by then it was already too late. Alice told me everything and I left for a few days". He explained to me in detail.
    "Where did you go?"
    "Alaska. The cold helps to clear ones head". He replied. I chuckled and glanced back out at the millions of trees around us.
   "I guess I'll have to try it sometime".
   "I could take you there the next time I plan to run away". Edward suggested.
    "Not sure my dad would be too keen on the idea of his daughter running away with some guy".
    "Gabby do you remember how I told you that Bella was never the one?"
     "Yeah, but what does that have to do with you asking me to runaway with you as a joke?"
Edward sighed. "As you saw with Alice and Jasper and Esme and Carlisle vampires have mates. Someone who we will spend the rest of our lives with. The bond between us is stronger then anything imaginable".
    "You thought Bella was the one. Your mate didn't you".
Edward met out another sigh. "Though Alice had not seen her coming I thought with all my being that she was the one until-"
    "She cheated on you". I finished for him as I put a hand on his shoulder. "But what does this all have to do with me?"
    "Alice saw you coming to Forks. She saw you in my future. She saw you as...."
   "Edward..." I stepped closer to him. "She saw me as a vampire didn't she?"

Ooh getting more juicy! And don't worry Gabby and Edward will start there relationship very soon...
