Chapter 8 - Privacy

"It's not fair mam!", Ravi was little louder while saying that.

Ravi was sitting inside Rakshana's room and they were arguing about something. Through the glass doors Sathya was able to see them but couldn't hear what they were arguing about.

Rakshana smiled and said, "Listen Ravi. In business, nothing is fair. We need to earn money. That's what we are doing. Plus there is no harm in that."

"What are you talking about mam? Selling private information to other country? Do you think there is no harm in that?"

"You are using all social media sites, Whats app, Twitter and many more. Many people still use Gmail to send their confidential files and information. That's not harm? How come this is?" Rakshana questioned Ravi.

"Mam you are saying that you will record all mobile phones and landline calls, monitor all traffic cameras in this country, even laptop cameras, everything illegally. What if someone finds about that? How do you even get permission for this?"

"Ha Ha Ha. Why are you worrying about those things? Just do your job Mr. Ravi. Your team is yet to complete the tasks for this project."

Ravi sighed and literally looked disinterested.

Rakshana continued, "Think about the company's future. Now we are the fastest growing company in this country. If we successfully finish this project, imagine that we will be the fastest growing company in the world. Everyone will look in to this country."

"Well..if there is anything left in this country", Ravi angrily said and left Rakshana's room."

Sathya was waiting outside Rakshana's room.

"Hey Ravi, Why are you so tensed? Did Boss scold you?" Sathya asked with a smile.

"I have to tell you something. Come let's go to the cafe", Ravi urged Sathya to come.

"WHAT? Can you say it again?" Sathya asked with a shocking voice.

"Our company is building a device. It can monitor all phone calls, cameras, every electronic device in this country."

"Why? What's the reason?"

"For Information. Apparently some other country is building another device which interprets all those information and generates a report periodically."

"What's the use of that report?"

"I don't know. All I know is that it's happening illegally without government's permission. And our company is a part of it."

"Oh My God!! There are other companies too? What are we going to do about this Ravi? "

"I don't know Sathya. I confronted Rakshana. She doesn't care about anything. Who will buy any electronic device if they came to know that their activities are being monitored remotely? It will definitely kill the privacy of this country. We are indeed selling ourselves."

"Yes Ravi. What if this information gets in to the wrong hands? The effects are unimaginable. Why don't you tell your Father-in-law? He is an Ex-Minister right?" Sathya told Ravi.

"Yes. But we don't talk much. Ours is a love marriage. Her father doesn't like me. He agreed to the wedding only because of her", Ravi said in a stressed voice.

"What are we going to do Ravi?"

"I don't know. I'll think about that. Until then you don't tell anybody about this. Including Krish. Okay?"

"Okay Ravi." 

They both left the cafe.

On the way they met Rakshana. Rakshana smiled at them. They didn't smile. That probably made Rakshana angry but she didn't express that.

Rakshana immediately called someone over her cellphone and said, "We need to TALK!"
